What a freak way to get hurt again for Killer. No love from the hockey gods. Hopefully it's nothing too serious and he's able to go later in the week. He was looking excellent in his return the past couple games.

Bruins can’t keep up with Maple Leafs - The Boston Globe

TORONTO — A puck to the throat, a shot to the back of the head, and 2 points down the drain. As the rain poured down outside Scotiabank Arena on a dreary Monday night, the ongoing flood of injuries grew deeper for the Bruins in their 4-2 loss to the Maple Leafs.
Kevan Miller, Boston’s rock-jaw blue liner, exited after the first period with a throat injury and remained overnight at a local hospital for observation — what coach Bruce Cassidy explained was a precautionary move in case swelling in the area increased.

“X-rays were negative,” said Cassidy, noting that a puck rode up Miller’s stick and struck him below the chin. “They’ll keep him overnight to make sure his breathing stays normal . . . right now he’s out of any danger, from what we’ve heard

Later in the game, Jake DeBrusk, felled near the left post in a fight for position around the net, had a shot from teammate Danton Heinen’s stick ring off the back of his head, the puck appearing to strike his helmet near the base of his skull.

DeBrusk appeared dazed, made his way to the bench, and saw the game through to its :00 conclusion. He was not made available to the media after the loss. Some five minutes after the game, a doctor was summoned to the Boston dressing room, possibly an indication the 22-year-old winger needed a medical assessment.

Would have been nice if they called the slewfoot before he took the puck in the head.

These injuries are getting ridiculous,we will be down to 2 guys that can score,3 if you count Krejci but he is more of a playmaker.Starting to loose faith that any of the kids are going to step up and start contributing, and I mean more than just there playing pretty good there getting chances, there doing other things.I mean scoring some goals

Until the trade deadline. I think everyone knew there would be highs and lows. Lotta lows this year for them but I think you still need to stick with them and let 'em sort it out on the ice.

Have to agree, the team is in a spot where the kids have to produce- there aren't many other options right now. This was the gamble they took going into the season. With the D-corps situation you can't trade anyone away back there and who do you move on the forward group that has any value that the team can afford to give up? I still think at least a couple of them will get their games going. Heinen is close- he's snakebitten right now, but the breaks will start falling his way eventually.

Clearly the hockey gods are angry at the Bruins. We've had some absolute shit luck with injuries the last couple seasons. This one seems surprisingly worse than last season.

DeBrusk also was unable to finish the game, Miller was taken to hospital after taking a puck to the throat from Tavares. DeBrusk was hit on the back of the head by Heinen.

What luck this year, it is insanity how bad it has been.

I don't think there's a certain timeline in terms of waiting for things to shake out. There's too many good teams and a bad couple weeks takes you right out of it. If they had a deal to make the team better right now and it made sense they would do it and I guarantee you they're doing their due diligence always actively trying to become better.

That's fair. I'm sure if a deal presents itself they will do it. There are certainly some desperate teams out there.
