He’s proven he sucks at it. Get a better coach in here. Don’t need Trotz. Just someone who knows wtf he’s doing

I mean does he suck at that though? Kakko, Miller, Fox, and Chytil(before he got hurt).

Laf seems like he is quickly settling into becoming a point producer. Individually, I think he is doing what he is supposed to do.

At least, I think thats what the FO sees as well.

quinn has to go already he is a collage coach
I’d prefer a montage coach:

Shesty should have started. We went down like p***yes. Done with Quinn. In hockey, there is a time to play dirty. When that game went 4 -1, that was the time. He accepts losing because we have excuses; guys out, young team, wasted cap space. No Balls on this guy. Fire his ass.

Shesty starting would not have made a difference....ok maybe they lose 3-1 instead. He did give up Boston’s GW goal. Just sayin and Georgy had Nick Ritchie’s fat ass almost crush his head. This loss is not on Georgy.

Fact is, when your number 1 center has played like a well below replacement level player, worst on the team in fact, it's going to be tough to win many games. Whether it's covid related or whatever, Zibanejad's drop-off is unquestionably the biggest reason why the Rangers are where they are. We are actually lucky the depth forwards have been much improved. If it was as bad as last season this team would be horrific.

Ya, this game is what it is. One part bad roster one part Cassidy making adjustments. If this was a playoff series, Quinn would make his adjustments to try and get an edge in game 3.

If Howden plays, our play will have an AHL feel to it. He is absolutely useless and getting decent ice time. Makes no sense.
I will guarantee you, that if we cut Howden loose he goes on to have a good career elsewhere. I have seen this show too many times already. He's a young player. The worst thing you can do is have him make all his mistakes here, learn from them and then go reap the rewards elsewhere.

Maybe like, let Oliver or Brown go and bring in a veteran coach who wouldn't mind making a few hundred thousand dollars in a few months? Someone who can work with the forwards.

Exactly. I don't pay attention to who posts so maybe the negative guys stayed offline Friday, but it's really silly how split personality some people are.
That's not unique. Go check out Montreal's board over the last 4 weeks.

That would be the second veteran assistant we bring in to do Quinn's job for him. That would say a lot.

This was as predictable as it gets. Boston was humiliated their last 2 games against us and the Isles. They were clearly fired up for the game, as expected.

If you asked me going into this 2 game set if a win and a loss was alright, I would have said yes.

You're taking a split off the best team in the division down 3 of your top 9 forwards (including your best), and one of your best Dmen.

Yeah it sucks to lose but this really isn't a game anyone should have important takes off of.

Nah, it's easier to rant and rave rather than realize that BOS is one of the best teams in the league that wasn't going to get steamrolled twice in a row by a team that's missing 4 of its best players. For as good as we were on Friday, BOS was just as bad, and they were never going to repeat that performance.

how long will the front office tolerate the yo-yo, jekyll and hyde Rangers?

we're a young team but it's our vets that suck

How can we have a 'gameplan', execute it perfectly on Friday and shit the bed like this on Sunday?

We're missing most of our best line, Chytil and a minute eating dman. I thought if we got one win this weekend we would have overachieved

Yup. I was thinking during the game that this would have been a series-tying game 2 by a veteran squad that got embarrassed in game 1.

This was objectively a very bad game.

1.09 xGF is 13th percentile league wide this season.
2.13 xGA is 23rd percentile league wide this season.
Boston came out with a mission to win this game from the drop of the puck and didn't stop until midway through the 3rd when they peeled off a bit. Bet some words were exchanged in their room after Friday.

It also takes blood and sweat game in and game out. Can the team do like they did physically on Friday on a consistent basis. There are lots of kids here who probably can't at this point. We've seen almost no physicality from Miller. Lindgren got hit hard from the first shift. When Fox tried one of his blue line dekes early and the Boston player didn't fall for it and Fox got thrown to the ice, you knew Boston had a point to prove.

Stay positive. Chytil and Kakko are coming back. Panarin's a situation where it's not a physical injury. It's a marathon, not a sprint.

If the Quinn’s claim to fame was he developed Mika and Buchnevich (and I heard that all summer thru January)

and EVERY first round pick forward we’ve got has severely underperformed under him,

And it took signing Martin to teach this team how to defend after two years of embarrassing themselves

someone explain to me how much longer his rope is.
