I can understand the frustration of not competing for gold, same thing happened with US vs. Finland at the Olympics. It may be poor sportsmanship but some teams really do have a gold or bust mentality in a given year.

Our effort level isn't all that great this game either, it's just that Sweden's is basically nonexistent.

I've said the bronze is a meaningless medal in sports and nobody remembers who wins bronze, while some argued they care.

Maybe it feels to some fans like it is meaninggless medal, but that doesn't mean that players should feel like that and perform like this, atleast when representing your country. Should be honour to wear national jersey and play for your country.

What about invidual bronze medals, are those meaningless also?

I cant understand this way of thinking, but i respect it anyway. When Finland play in bronze medal, game most finns want them to give all they have and to go home with a bronze, not to be embarassed by the other team.

I guess that's fine. For me, I want players representing our national team to give full effort even if they don't happen to feel like it. I'm not blaming players for not getting emotions high on this game. But swedish players are effectively lying down and waiting to have their head cut off.

I wouldn't enjoy Finns playing like this.

Well i cant blame this guys really for not giving their heart out there! but i wont start whine about this game! lets see it this way the americans are really good in this game and put up some really nice and great goals!

Same was with the silver medal in the Olympics... players like Erik Karlsson said you will find his medal on ebay.

That's crazy. An olympic silver is a tough spot right after the game but at the end of his career sitting at his home drinking whiskey, he would probably enjoy a silver from olympics besides his Norris' and other stuff. Tho he could still win OG or something. I'm not sure tho never been playing in Olympics or anything.

It has got everything to do with it. Thing is that Sweden have won only two gold medals in these tournaments. So another bronze would suit you well. Same goes with every country other than Canada.

It would've been more cruel to put Söderström in just to see another loss in front of him when the team in front of him is not even trying.
