It's not that meaningful game, but this is embarrassing way to go. Like Sweden has no pride.

Sweden already won the moral gold with W. Nylander leading the charge. Hard to find motivation after such an achievement.

Well, they're kids, with Grönborg as a coach, and they're from Sweden. A country where a bronze means nothing unless it's in a sport we majorly suck at(such as soccer).

I'm not insulted, I'm embarrassed. It's easy to say that we don't care about the bronze when we are losing this big, but it shows lack of respect to our opponents. We should celebrate the Americans instead of saying that we don't care.

If they were playing extremely good against Finland I could understand that. Problem is Sweden didn't show up yesterday either, 3 shots on goal last period and whining about the refs.

And US lost against their 2nd biggest rival yesterday. It's a big difference between these two teams.

They are still youngsters and the mental level - how they can handle the disappointment in less than a day - is not on a professional level yet. Even the adults have very often difficulties to find the inner fire in themselves for the bronze game.

USA has been more ready and eager to get at least some medal.

I could've said this before the game... Sweden will get blown out completely. It just seems that if Sweden doesn't win gold, it's whatever.

Same was with the silver medal in the Olympics... players like Erik Karlsson said you will find his medal on ebay.

Was refreshing to hear Selänne's bronze medal speech with the reporter(s) after his last international game. That's how it should be! A medal is a medal and to think Canada (and Finland in Sweden's case) is the only team to beat is just stupid.

Which is a nice change. My experiences of US teams in the past would be them rolling over and playing dead today but they've shown a lot more maturity.

I've said the bronze is a meaningless medal in sports and nobody remembers who wins bronze, while some argued they care.

For the record, I can't remember any bronze medalists, in any sport, except for when Sweden won bronze in football 1994.

Hence I don't whine on the players either if they don't give 100% in the bronze medal game, unless it matters (like in football, because in that sport the competition is ridiculous).

I cant understand this way of thinking, but i respect it anyway. When Finland play in bronze medal, game most finns want them to give all they have and to go home with a bronze, not to be embarassed by the other team.

I guess that's fine. For me, I want players representing our national team to give full effort even if they don't happen to feel like it. I'm not blaming players for not getting emotions high on this game. But swedish players are effectively lying down and waiting to have their head cut off.

I wouldn't enjoy Finns playing like this.
