It has been the standard practice to crap on either one of the supposed #1 or #2 in these games. Mostly it depends on if you are a Finn or a Leafs fan and there is a very very slight element of on ice performance of the said prospect also included. Auston is not having the best of games so here we go. It is completely irrelevant though, so just laugh it off. What's with all the ******** on Matthews today? Because he's not carrying the team like he did the past two games? Just take note- as rough of a game he has had today, he still wasn't on the ice for a goal against while for example Larkin was on for 2 and like Hanafin for 4.

You clearly don't understand something the refs do: The intentional point of contact rules only stand if the head is at a normal level. He even lowered himself just before the hit. And to me he hits the collar bone area with the biggest force, the head is just coincidental contact. Which is of course why he wasn't even injured.
Have you watched his other games? He's had a pretty tough game today. He's still a top tier prospect no matter what happens this game.![]()
You guys are ridiculous. Nobody says Matthews isn't a big prospect or should be picked in the 5th round, but, again, the supposed best player in the world of his age group shouldn't only be good against bottom feeder teams, and yeah, I've watched his other games.Every 18 year old who has a bad game without high level players around him should absolutely be dropped in the draft. Forget all of the awesome plays he's made throughout the previous games, one game means everything

Would you say he was the #1 pick level good? I wouldn't.If you really watched his other games you wouldn't say he's been only good against bottom feeder teams.

I will repeat my post earlier, it would not surprise me if Vatrano has a good year in Boston next year. Kid has a lot of game, in particular his shot. 2 goals this game. He has had a very good tournament.
Would you say he was the #1 pick level good? I wouldn't.

He's been a much better passer than he's been given credit for to go with his shot. He shouldn't be spending any more time in the AHL
Who has been #1 pick level good then?
Do you really need to ask when it's clear that he's implying Laine is having a better tournament?
