Another tough hit on Motte, but don't know it was all that dirty. Players coming different directions going for the puck.

Overall, a pretty successful tournament. Team just didn't have it today. They still did a good job to get this far and really made Canada sweat it out yesterday. I can't complain much about their effort overall.

Pretty much, heard they have an average age of 23? That seems crazy for a tournament filled with NHL stars.

Yeah, honestly, for a supposed best player in the world of his age group, Matthews hasn't impressed me at all. And he's one of the oldest players in the draft class.

Have you watched his other games? He's had a pretty tough game today.

He's still a top tier prospect no matter what happens this game.

I watched it a few times, his forearm is high chest, not head. Feels like we need a Stefanie gif here.

Gotta keep ur arms in and go shoulder to shoulder, can't have arm up, even at 90 degrees/ shoulder level, when the principal point of contact is the head...flagrant flagrant hit to the head...no debating it l...

Every 18 year old who has a bad game without high level players around him should absolutely be dropped in the draft. Forget all of the awesome plays he's made throughout the previous games, one game means everything

Watching the replays, I still have no idea what Wideman was doing on that Evgeni "Who's Your" Dadonov goal.

I only posted this to get the nickname in.

Be comforted by the fact that nothing unites nations like their hatred of the Leafs .

Russian fans should get back to cheering on their teams attempts to take out as many knees as they can.

You clearly don't understand something the refs do: The intentional point of contact rules only stand if the head is at a normal level. He even lowered himself just before the hit. And to me he hits the collar bone area with the biggest force, the head is just coincidental contact. Which is of course why he wasn't even injured.

What's with all the ******** on Matthews today? Because he's not carrying the team like he did the past two games? Just take note- as rough of a game he has had today, he still wasn't on the ice for a goal against while for example Larkin was on for 2 and like Hanafin for 4.

Still a period to go but game is long over. Congrats to the Russians on a well played game on their end. Hope to see a Russia-USA semifinal game in September

Canada had to go through a death march to squeak past the USA yesterday, so I hope it took enough out of Canada so Finland presents them with a Silver medal.

There's a need to ease the stress and anxiety caused by the Leafs getting a franchise centre
