Could care less about a couple empty net goals in terms of evaluating what Boeser did tonight but what's important to notice is that he put himself into the positions to score them.

Boeser's compete level, puck management, and defensive play has become good to excellent. He's been accountable almost every night this year and the reward is ice time and being put into positions to have success.

Have to tip the hat to Miller and Boeser who have been vital to the success of this team.

Especially so considering that much of their own fanbase wanted them gone.
Agreed. They are our undisputed first line this season. The 2nd line is Pettersson with whoever they can get to work with him.

Besides leading the league in goal scoring he’s been better in all 3 zones this year. Seems like his engine got a horsepower upgrade in the offseason, great to see.

It's odd. This is the most engaged he's ever been, at both ends of the rink.

Also, It's still weirding me out a bit to see him holding onto the puck along the wall and not losing it hahahahaha.

I'm really happy that Boeser is back to producing. On a team that is struggling to produce, we need his shot volume. And his consistency on the boards in the o-zone.

I said before the season I'd be happier if he bounces back more than I would be if the team makes the playoffs given everything he's been through.

There's probably a succession plan with Lekkerimaki - especially given that they'll need ELC producers when OEL's penalty jumps. And, there's some stylistic overlap.

I wonder how much better he will look if they get another burner/+ two way winger on that line. Both Miller and Brock would benefit from it. They just need a guy who's consistently the hardest working guy on both ends, like a batter Sam Lafferty, with them.

And then you get to another ideal world where those guys aren't taking so many hard shifts.

Tue answer to that is Mikheyev, which I’d be interested in seeing. In this home stretch they could hard match that line aginast the other teams top line and put out Petey, Kuzy, and one of Hoglander/Lafferty/Joshua for offensive zone mins.

They probably can’t do that on the road but at home it might be effective for a bit

Yeah the Mikheyev that we signed I always saw as a good player to put next to Miller.

The Mikheyev this season recovering from his knee being blown out… the loss in step is reminiscent of Roussel post-injury. Pace is so down it’s worrying.

Boeser. Whole time I thought he was shooting a high volume and that his percentage was sustainable only to find out he’s shooting at Kuzmenko’s last season. Which is odd because I saw so much stuff about Kuzmenko’s shot percentage but i haven’t seen that once with Brock.

Where would the Canucks be without Brock's production?.....in a bigger hole, I can guarantee it.

When you break down the Canucks top two-scoring lines, there clear gaps in all of them. Mikheyev and Kuzmenko are just too inconsistent right now with Petey; and Di Giuseppe is a bit of a boat anchor with Boeser and Miller--at least in terms of offense.

What it signals to me is that the Canucks clearly must be desperately casting around for another scoring winger, or even two. But so are 31 other teams in the NHL.

Or they are hoping that the top line starts scoring like a top line.

Can’t help but love the dude and it seems like his team mates and the organization does.

Really hope he can be a consistent 35-35 player. Keep him until he falls off.

let Brock be a lessen to all of you that watched a quality top6 player go through physical and mental injury and wrote him off to have patience and faith in people who have shown in the past what they are capable of..... especially ones that have vowed to get better.

After hours was a truly special insight to what a quality human being Brock has been throughout his life. 21 goals by Dec 13th is something else. So happy for him and his redemption.

Not gonna call out people for trashing him but rather highlight this post that was echoing some of my thoughts last year that was sage.
Being in the dumps because your dad died is a 100% fair excuse for a blah season imo.
Especially because Duke Boeser was a big-time "hockey dad", coming to the rink every day probably triggers a lot of memories.
Boeser's injury history before this season can't be understated either. He said it took him 3+ years for his shot to feel back to normal after the Clutterbuck/open bench hit against the Islanders in 2018, and just as he starts to feel healthy again his dad starts to really decline and then passes away?
With context, everyone should be buying low on Boeser. I think next season will be the truest reflection of what we can expect out of him, which will give the Canucks enough information to make a real decision in his final year (if he isn't traded prior to then)

I am so happy to see him making a comeback. Also, a big F U to those who were mocking him despite what he was going through the last two years. Many here even advocated trading him for negative value assets just to get rid off him.

I don't think his wrist is completely healed that injury goes back before he was drafted.

I've had nothing but admiration and respect for the way that Brock has handled all the adversity in his young life.

I was at the game in December 2017 when he was injured by a shot to the foot in the 1st period. The whistle wasn't blown and he had to drag himself across the ice to get to the bench. It was such a downer. Unfortunately, there was more shit to come in his future.

It makes the good season he's having so far that much sweeter. Brock is overdue for the good times. Let 'em roll.

Kudos to those (the one I remember is @PuckMunchkin, but kudos to the others that I don't recall who they were as well) who were on here saying last season and in the summer that we were undervaluing Boeser, that he could make a big comeback and in particular arguing against giving him away for nothing or less than nothing to get some cap space. Congrats also on refraining from an endless string of posts telling us "I told you so."

I was in what was probably the majority that thought he was on a negative value contract, something probably nobody would argue in favour of right now.

And this isn’t even the best he has played. I been saying it for years this guy is a playoff performer (someone that can elevate his game when needed). We NEED guys like him.

Brock finally playing like this doesn't excuse all the other years. The process isn't magically good that they never moved on. Unless you're saying none of those years he was bad weren't meant to mean anything in the first place.
