Nothing will make me happier than Brock becoming a PPG forward and spending his entire career in Vancouver. I hope he can really keep up the pace, he could have had 3 goals today.
some people want to see him fail because they simply dont like slower player

Trade Boeser while the iron is hot. The team can find another bumper guy for scoring on the PP.

Agreed. I don't really see this burst of offense as enough. He's shooting at a historically high 24.2%, when his career average is 13.3%.

He's only been potting goals in that bumper area and that's brand new this year when he used to play more to the side boards. If he isn't in the bumper he wouldn't be getting that many goals. Which is subsequently why Kuzmenko is "slumping" because Boeser took his exact spot.

I personally haven't seen that much improvement in 5 on 5 play. And his shot no longer beats goalies on the rush or anywhere past the dots.

No matter how much he scores, I would still trade back for his rookie shot.

He has been much stronger on the cycle, but still pretty mid when it comes to skating in open space.

Need board warriors too, not just flashy skaters, Boeser’s a core piece and a keeper, just look at some of the players on the Blues & Kings cup winning teams, younger better version of Perron & Toffoli.

His effort and defensive play are sound. I hope we keep him.

Yes, les trade the guy who is on pace for 50+ goals because he is executing his role as a bumper very well.

Maybe we will find somebody who doesn't do it half as well and then try to find ways to trade him for somebody who does kind of like Boeser.

Garland and Beau are the 2 players we need to trade for players who have more impact.

What a player he has turned into. Always had the goalscoring ability but now is a complete player. Best winger on this team.

Boeser - Pettersson - Hughes was an insane rookie run and now are in their primes and it’s beautiful to watch.

I don’t want to sidetrack this thread but Garland has been one of if not the best Canucks forward 5v5

Yo Vecter, we need to change the thread title, give this guys season a bit more respect.

Something like,

Brock Boaser, but the 40 goal version.

Or Return of the flow.

Anything but another players name in yhe title, and a healthy scratch at that. no shade at Kuz but yea…

He's obviously going to slow down, but even if he returns to his career G/G rate from this point on he'd be pacing for 38 goals. A 40 goal/82 pace for the rest of the season land him at 46 for the year.

Could care less about a couple empty net goals in terms of evaluating what Boeser did tonight but what's important to notice is that he put himself into the positions to score them.

Boeser's compete level, puck management, and defensive play has become good to excellent. He's been accountable almost every night this year and the reward is ice time and being put into positions to have success.

Have to tip the hat to Miller and Boeser who have been vital to the success of this team.

Especially so considering that much of their own fanbase wanted them gone.

a small part of me did still believe that boeser could turn it around

but man, boeser reinventing himself as tim kerr was not on my bingo card

See, you don't hear everything behind closed doors. And that was 3 years ago BTW. Right after the Covid season ended, in the locker room while another player was being interviewed. Sometimes a "hot mike" picks things up that were not intended for the public.
He almost went to the Islanders but for Tocchet instead of Horvat. But you won't hear that either, just Horvat's dismay of how they "said one thing and then did the opposite"

Of course you are quite allowed to rewrite what the words mean or what Horvat was thinking when he said that. Like the opposite was strawberry ice cream instead of chocolate or they were not going to trade me and then then did or ....
Considering the choice the team had, Miller or Horvat but not both I would settle with that as what he was referring to.

Interesting that he took over Horvat’s spot in the bumper position this year and they both have/had 17 goals in 23 games to start the year. You can see where that PP likes to get its looks from.

Maybe it's just recency bias speaking, but to me it feels like he's been getting a lot of chances from there, but not actually scoring much from there. Whereas with Horvat it felt like 90% of his goals were from there. Could be wrong, but I feel like a lot of his goals have been more rebound goals, or ones like his first goal last night, rather than clean shots from the bumper.

So much unnecessary discussion and revisionismism in this thread. Easier just to simplify the greatness of Brock Boeser and his comeback year:

Brock Boeser :yo:

Man I love this player :yo:
