Brock finally playing like this doesn't excuse all the other years. The process isn't magically good that they never moved on. Unless you're saying none of those years he was bad weren't meant to mean anything in the first place.
I was giving kudos to those that figured the Canucks would be better off not giving Boeser away for nothing (and retaining on him) last summer. It can be argued that it is too early to say for sure, but at this stage it certainly appears they were right.

That has nothing to do with whether his bad seasons "mean anything." There was nothing the Canucks could have done last summer that was going to get those seasons back. The way to proceed depended on what would happen in the future and those posters seem to have nailed that.

Let's just put all the Brock trade talk to bed, at least for the rest of the season. (Looking at you paragraph poster.) It's unrealistic and just not happening.

Feels to me like praising a baseball player for a 1 for 10 slump but whatever. At least that 1 was an extra bagger.

Who is the baseball player in this analogy?

So the people that wanted to keep Boeser and not trade him as a cap dump went 1 for 10? Im trying to understand what the other 9 are?

The other nine reasons/excuses/magic fairy dust coming "they" have had over the years to never move on from the player. I'm delighted in the current success. The process was hot garbage.

Oh, I see what you are saying. I don’t think the analogy is an accurate way of explaining the Boeser situation.

That's fair. We aren't all gonna square everything all the time.
I think if anyone takes Boesers re ignition of goal scoring and comes to the conclusion that we should treat other regressing players the same. Thats the wrong conclusion. To use an analogy, Its like a lottery winner planning on winning lotto again.

I was happy myself to keep Boeser if he could be a Higgins type player. But I was happy to move him for cap space if we could, because at the end of last year, Higgins was me taking copium.

If anybody is wondering what has helped Brock gain that extra step this season, the universe may have just given me a clue.

I honestly thought he would get traded with how well he started the year. Hope he can get back to form. I dont expect a 50g pace.

Id like to see him hit 38 goals and 38 assists.

Would be a great bounce back season for him. Add in his improvements of the forecheck and boards and I am very happy with his contract.

He is getting 40 goals this year minimum I hope. Needs 13 in 38 games to do so. Great feel good story for the team and him personally

He's turned his game around so much he's a core player now in my eyes.

The lotto line is a great line to throw together long term. JT is the hound and puck retriever; EP is the brain and playmaker; and Brock quietly finds that sweet spot as the sniper.

Is Brock destined to be the greatest 30 goal scorer who never hits 30 in a single season? He has gone ice cold. If he were to get injured or continue as he has the last 5 games he could stall below 30.
