Pulock shoots the puck through the goalie, forwards fight for it and tap it in. And Halmo is back.

Weak crease work here by Pulock against the Phantoms costs them a goal.

Bridgeport with the win in OT last night. Two OT wins in a row. Quine is back and Mayfield had an excellent game-- seven shots (!) and strong defensive play.

“Any time you get a player like Scotty Mayfield in your lineup — you saw how he controlled the defensive zone,” Thompson said. “He made the simple puck play when he had to make the simple puck play.”

Vaht is dis Pulock you speak of ?
Back in Old Country, da elders would spin tails of such a creature.
Have golden ax , other tribes fear his mighty weapon.

Yeah. Just a tall tail.

Bridgeport beat the baby Rags last night. Berube in goal with another solid game. Mayfield with an assist and he is getting huge minutes on the PK. They've been looking better with the return of him and Quine. Collberg has been a healthy scratch.

Whatever happened to Ross Johnston? I see he hasn't played in ages. Hurt? Demoted to ECHL? Scratched?

Hurt. Starting to come back though.

How has Johnston looked? What about Halmo? I still have hope that Halmo could be a respectable 4th line NHLer. If he could handle it, and I thought he did not look out of place when he last played in the NHL, that could free us up from having to resign Martin. Before anyone crucifies me, I like Martin and I would like to see us resign him, but replacing guys like that could help us keep our budget in line. Just a thought anyway...

It's too bad Johnston got hurt. I felt like he had the ability to be Matt Martin's replacement sooner than later.

Missouri, our ECHL affiliate is 35-5-2 !!!! Their starting goal Josh Robinson hasn't lost once in regulation. Jesse Graham and Matt Finn are currently down there, along with Stephon Williams.

Maybe the org will hire Richard Matvichuk, who's done a excellent job down there.

Mayfield has been impressive since he came back. And he must have gotten the green light to stay on the PK as long as he wants. He's taking JT-in-OT type shifts.

Johnston's a big boy but he looks like he's still figuring out the AHL game. I don't have a strong opinion on him yet. He wasn't particularly visible in my opinion.

Halmo has looked good lately but he doesn't have enough skill to be top-9, and doesn't have enough speed or physicality to be a 4th liner. I don't think he ever becomes a regular in the NHL.

Halmo with a Hatty against Albany tonight.

He's been excellent. Gibson was playing very well and Berube hasn't given him a chance to get back in the lineup. His conditioning stint is over now though.
