Appleby the starter for BPT. Tikkanen backing up. Makes me think Skarek is on his way to Pittsburgh to back up Sorokin tomorrow.

Well, it took OT of a 6-5 game to win it.

Haven't seen the highlights yet, but it's not like the opponent was kept off the scoreboard.

Have seen the highlights now.

To begin, BPort gave up 4-1 and 5-2 leads in this game.

Don't think Tikkanen looked good on the first two goals against.

Looked like everyone was overwhelmed with the last three goals against.

Dufour just ripped a nice shot for a 2-0 lead.

It's 2-0 now 5 minutes into the 2nd period.

In their last game against the Checkers (at home), the Checkers tied the game at 3 with just 1.1 seconds to go, then won in OT on a power play. Salo had a goal and an assist.

Once again, Skarek looked really bad on one of the goals against (the 2nd). I can't recall seeing any highlights this year where he hasn't allowed at least one "should never have gone in" type of goal.

Isles win in OT 3-2. Slap shot from the point by Salo that hit the post and Iskhakov taps in rebound. 2 goals on the night for him, 1 for Dufour. 3 point night for Salo. Salo has been looking pretty decent lately offensively. Has 11 points in past 9 games.

Skarek played yesterday and gave up the game tying goal with 1.1 seconds left. If anyone can give up a goal at an inopportune time or a goal that should have been saved it’s Skarek.

Although that hot streak surely has him first on the list for a call-up at this point, don't really see it happening until/unless one of the lefty shot Dmen is injured.
What I can say about Salo's recent play is that this is the first stretch since he's been in the AHL where he is having an impact on the games. Last season he was a non-entity. His jersey was on the ice but with no heart.

Need all the help they can get so this is grabbing them an ok AHL player to help deepen this team a bit. I remember him with Lehigh Valley, typical hard working wing with some speed. I didn’t realize he played 22 games in NHL.

Most interesting is that he played for Coachella last season and participated in all 26 playoff games.

The B-Isles are god awful. One saving grace, Robin Salo is having a good stretch. Impacts the game when he plays.

I wouldn’t write him off just yet. Could be an NHL player for some team.

Trevor Cosgrove just ripped his 1st AHL goal past Magnus Helberg. Tied the game at 3 with 3 left in the 3rd.

Right after that Iskhakov turns over the puck in the D zone and Henrik Tikkanen gives up a hellacious goal that trickled through his pads with 1:42 left. Crushing 4-3 loss.

Last in the AHL.

This is the worst Bridgeport team I've ever seen. There's really nothing down there. Nothing.

Horrible goaltending and junk defense.

I think Cholowski, Hutton, and LaDue are all hurt but even then Bridgeport is very dry with prospects on the backend. You bascially have Salo and journeymen and undrafted UFA signings that are fringe players at best.

Losing Bolduc, Schnieder (sp) and Wotherspoon really hurt them.

They lack a true top center, the D is awful for sure but the goaltending is atrocious. There will be some influx of prospects next year which will help(Jeffries, Gill, Odelius and George). But they need a goalie and some improved veteran defensemen. It will interesting to see lineup in providence to see if anyone is out snd on way to Minnesota to join isles.

I watched the 3rd period of tonight's 2-0 loss in Providence.

The number one thing that stood out to me was how many simple passes were made that the recipients couldn't control. Particularly on breakouts and when entering the zone.

My goodness, it's like they had some kind of anti-puck magnet built into their blades. The passes seemed fine to me. The guys simply couldn't control them.

Oh, and Skarek was actually "the good player" tonight.

There was some excitement when they had the 6-4 PP in the final 3 minutes down by one. That was fun, until it wasn't.
