I think he’s really good with the puck on his stick. Not much else.
Do you think he could coach? :sarcasm: That’s the biggest need on the big club…

Serious question, is this guy good for anything besides random trick plays that will never work in the NHL?
Depends if he can find time and space in the NHL without getting squashed like a bug.

If Iskhakov can't get open and impact the game with his talent in the AHL, why would anyone believe he could do that in the NHL?

He’s improved his play without puck this year I think. He’s good on power play also, I kinda believe he could be third line type who plays on PP as his upside. He’s small but he’s not afraid of traffic either, he’s competitive player.

If the big club continues its descent, perhaps we’ll get a good look at Isk. That first goal showed a willingness to drive the net and work a defender. That happens in the NHL. He’s doesn’t look to be purely a one-trick shootout pony.

I am not saying that Ishakov is going to be something amazing in the NHL but I also do not know what else people want him to do to earn a call up. He is scoring at essentially a point per game pace in the AHL. Might as well see what he can do in the NHL.
Ish is also putting up good numbers with very little support. Hopefully he gets a chance under the new coach.

See that Kyle MacLean made his NHL debut tonight. Anything to know about his game?
Typical energy guy , high motor , ala Casey Cizikas.

Dufour was a healthy scratch tonite in BPT… call-up? Trade? Or did he just forget to shave … hmmmm

The 3-1 loss to Providence was.....

It was 0-0 until very late. Then Providence scored.

The baby Islanders fought back, created pressure, and then a Cholowski off-leg dish-in from the point found it's way into the goal.

Seconds later, the baby Isles get a PP. Yes, with like 2:40 left in the game. A PP.

Off the ensuing face-off, which they won, the Dman (Salo or Cholowski, didn't see exactly) keeps the puck in along the boards. Iskhakov is pressured coming up the boards and decides to push it back towards the Dman, who is busy with an opponent and isn't ready. The puck squirts through. The lightning quick Bruin picks it up and skates the whole way down uncontested and rifles it past Tikkanen.

The coach waits a good long while before he turns the remaining PP into a 6-on-4, but Providence eventually puts in the empty netter.

It was so comical - so typical for this entire franchise right now - all I could do is chuckle.

They don't need opponents to beat them. They beat themselves.

Right now, it seems like they could shoot themselves in the foot, with an unloaded gun.

What's a bit surprising for me is that all this lousy play is being done with a good handful of veteran players at that level. I didn't think the Bardreaus and Pinhos and Kuhlmans would be part of a team that is so lacking in success, expecially when you see that Iskhakov, Koivula, Salo, Cholowski, and Dufour have being doing enough to be considered "on track" or "on par" with their prospect status.

That prospect production should be enough that when combined with the efforts of the veteran players, there's simply more competitiveness and success.

That said, I've seen what poor goaltending can do to players' confidence and performance when it's a continual problem.

Sounds like an excuse... But I've seen it plenty of times before.

A rarity happened in Bridgeport last night. A comeback win with 3 goals in the 3rd period. I wish I'd taken a picture of it.

The 500 of us who were there will be telling our children about this one.
Sounds like they were highly motivated. Any chance Roy might've been there checking out the team during the break?
