With the slew of injuries that’s not going to happen even if it should (which I don’t necessarily agree with).
I don't look to Hudson Fasching for any kind of offense. I think he is deficient in his D zone coverage. Too many times I've seen him getting spun around like a turnstile. It's almost as if he doesn't know where to be when the other team has numbers in our end.

Fasching is a nice story and all that but he looks overmatched at this level. Like Sebastian Aho, Fasch is a gamer, doesn't shy away from anything, but he is easy to get around.

Goal #1 tonight from our future first line RW.
Move over Wally.
Impressive.

On the second goal Dufour scored, he had Lambert wide open alongside him but just opted to take it himself. If that were Bailey, he either passes it to Lambert or, more likely, kicks it back to a defenseman. Let's hope Dufour keeps working on his skating and gets a chance next season to win a spot.

The way he responded to his teammates after the first goal and as he approached the bench just oozed confidence. He knows he’s good.

The feel good stories of Fasching and Durandeau are all well and good but this is the guy that might potentially fill an enormous void. Let him put on some muscle and work on the skating in the offseason and then hopefully win a spot next year on the Isles.

If Lou trades him I’ll have a stroke.

Who (besides Lambert) says Dufour isn’t ready? Smh.

Or is Lane a diabolical genius, trying to churn through the Isles better prospects, until they eventually get to his nephew, Jimmy? That is some Lex Luthor level thinking! 🤔

Dufour is having a really nice first pro season. He doesn't appear to need much time or space to get his shot away, and it's fast and heavy and seems to find openings. Nice traits to have!

Reece Newkirk, 3 points in 5 games. Maybe some more 5th round magic? 22 years old, just had a birthday on the 20th.
Nothing magical - he's the classic not big, not fast, not overwhelmingly skilled player with guts, and good rink sense. In other words, the kind of player you'll want on your AHL team to help with developing young talent.

As someone watching the games DuFour needs more time, he can play offensively but his defensive game is really not where it needs to be. He will get better at it but no reason to rush him up here, we will see Ishakov first for sure who is NHL ready I think.

Isles blow 3-0 lead. Lose 4-3 to the Phantoms
Dufour 1G
Ish 1G (a fancy between the legs penalty shot goal)
Bardreau 1G
Dufour continues to impress. Has 11 points in last 8 games (5G 6A) Still needs some work in his own end but he's moving along nicely as a first year pro.

I understand Ish is quite undersized but how much of a liability is he in his own zone? Seems like the puck is a bit sticky on his stick and we could use some of that on the big club.
