THIS ****** NEEDS TO GO

It makes me sick to my stomach every time I see his face.

This pic should be posted after every loss this year :shakehead

Ask ownership about why?

Bob McCowen almost did get an answer until Stupid Cox stepped in and saved Anselmi's butt.

Good show. Few good jabs at ownership and one Knockout blow to Steve Simmons.

Hate to date myself....but Burke's comments put Harold Ballard memories in my head.

I liked his "not my effin' problem anymore" attitude.

Lots of snark in the presser, too. Awesome.

As much as I'm happy he's gone, I'm going to miss the attitude.

Oh, and Simmons got burned.

Why would he take a shot at Theo Epstein? Theo helped the Sox win a World Series, what did Burkie do for the Leafs? That was brutal?

They probably just kept him as an adviser to the board so they don't technically fire him and have to buy his contract out. Now they can wait for him to find another job running a team and walk away from his salary.

That was obvious to most yesterday, hopeully the rest catch on now. He will be doing ZIP here.

Any gm jobs available? I think he will find work easily. Thanks to these coporate clowns that run the Leafs now. Suit and ties running a hockey team *sigh*

I think CBJ would be interested... he could do wonders for the fan base and garnering interest in that brand. Love or hate Burkie, he's a ballsy, honest, blunt man that fans love to listen to

I'm kinda confused as to what Burke's job as "Senior Advisor" could be now since it doesn't handle with the hockey side. Do they just expect him to help them with the financial side?

As soon as a GM job presents itself, he's gone.

He didn't take a shot at him at all? He said Theo asked him if his job was like Brian's and Brian just told him that it's not even close based on the media and visibility to the public.

He didn't? He just said when Theo asked him if his (Burke's) job was as hard as his (Theo's), Burke responded that he (Theo) had no idea how hard his (Burke's) job was.

James Mirtle ‏@mirtle
Here's hoping, from an entertainment perspective, Burke is the GM of the Markham NHL franchise in a few years...

Either that or Seattle would be so awesome

You guys have to be kidding, do you know what Red Sox fans would say to this???

He told Theo Epstein he had no idea what it was like as the GM as the Leafs??? That's a shot, all Theo did was take a team that had not won the World Series in 86 years, and win!

In regards to the media attention and the spotlight that is on you.

Out of the whole PC, this is what you end up arguing about hahaha?

LOL ya just read yesterday about the way Gord Stellick got the GM job. Douchebaggery at it's finest.

Why would he take a shot at Theo Epstein? Theo helped the Sox win a World Series, what did Burkie do for the Leafs? That was brutal?
What????
He didn't take a shot at Theo Epstein...
SOme people need the expanded fully explained version.

:help: Not sure if serious, he was talking about the fan and media pressure involved with the job.

He has no roll.....that was clear. He will be paid until the contract run's out or he takes another job.....
