does anyone think Burke will get another GM job?

You bet your ass he will.

God, I can't believe I got trolled into putting these rosters up. If you really believe 2008 is better than 2013 then speak now so I don't have to read your opinion any longer

He's a mediocre top pairing defenseman. Hardly sucks. Context is important and you clearly lack it

prospects aren't any better. it's easy to bash those busts now but at the time they were ranked just as well as our current crop.

the D was better on paper and yeah, our top 2 forward lines look better now (well, just kessel), but goaltending is a wash and the on ice results are worse.

I really like some of our prospects, and good young players... at the end of the day... the results. They aren't there.

who hires these reporters... some of the dumbest ****** questions

Hard to imagine them making this decision right now? Seems to me there is more to the story then what meets the eye. Could it be a Luongo trade Burke is not willing to make? or is the upper tiers simply sick of him and his antics? He has improved the prospects pool ten fold, but he hasn't been able to step in make that big signing or trade to get us over the hump. His unwillingness to adjust with the times has made it hard to sign any of the top tier free agents or at least put us further behind most other teams.

I don't know if this is a good move or not, What I do hope is the next GM does not come in and trade away the prospect pool to get good for a few seasons. I don't want to go through this rebuilding phase again is 2-4 years.

Hiring Nonis is like getting the apprentice to do the bosses job.

He's learned from him everywhere they've been, do the job in a similar way, just one has mastered the craft and the other is still learning.

Makes no sense, I would understand going in a brand new direction. But why get a smaller horse to pull the same wagon?

Firing Burke is the first smart move the Leafs made in what.... 10 pr 20 years?

Damn.. has it really been 20 years since the run Gilmore and the boys made?

Oh well... I've switched colors since then and am cheering for the B's... but it's still fun to keep an eye on the circus that is the Leafs.

I just don't get it, I just do not freakin' get it,

And why are people talking about MLSE, didn't Rogers already finish the deal and own the team now since last June?

One NHL team executive believes Burke's reluctance to move on Luongo cost him but I think there's more to it than that...
