Torts uses a lefty to take faceoffs in the left wing circle. Righty at the right wing circle. Richards and Miller are lefties. Stepan and Halpern are righties. They can draw the puck back on their backend into the corner.Powe can play in the middle. Boyle is a great guy. Great teammate. His cap hit doesn't match his production.Lindberg at $800K will give the Sather more bang for the puck next season. Hopefully Lindberg can be the Rangers Kruger who has been a key player for the Hawks. Miller,Pyatt,Powe and Halpern make up 4 of the bottom six.

yea, kuods to Miller for being this good this early. I really didnt think he would stick but I was hopefull. Long ways to go but the kid looks to have a spot for next yr

you are right Lindberg has a chance to take Boyles spot which is why I think it's safe to move Boyle now. Bring someone else in for sure , dont just give him away but they should get that cap hit out of here. Any little bit helps if they plan on keeping all their big guns.

When can Lindberg and Fast come over? I imagine they go right to CT for depth options.

IF they keep the same lineup and let UFAs walk the depth chart with Boyle out is still

Gaborik, Richards, Callahan
Hagelin, Stepan, Nash
Pyatt, Miller, Kreider
Powe, Lindberg, Asham
Haley, Ferrerio Thomas
Fast, Palmieri, Zuccarello?

Mashinter, Halpern are UFA, I think Segal and Newbury are too but whatever they should be in the AHL only

A change from the last time Boyle was a healthy scratch when Torts said Boyle is a part of our team and we need him.

I think its quite evident to me,that Boyle is as good as gone, unless he does a complete 180. To make Bickel and Haley play, and sit Boyle who's a pretty good FO guy (leads the team in %) and PK guy, says to me,that he's not part of the solution long term, and his days are numbered.

I'm just concerned that we would be losing another glue guy/team player, and might hurt the team somewhat...and to think we could have kept Prust for $800K more...who btw has been named the Habs MVP for the first half of the season by most media people in Montreal:shakehead

I'm a bit confused as to why Ferreiro has not got any starts ahead of Boyle. My patience is running very thin with Boyle since Miller has emerged.

Boyle looks lost whenever he has the puck on his stick and needs to make a decision. It's incredible how whenever he gets the puck he just plays the puck along the boards, no matter if it is a smart play or not, or if its in the offensive zone or the defensive zone.

He remains an effective checker but at this stage we need him to be able to contribute offensively and he is proving to be a giant black hole where offense goes to die.

Boyle will be gone sooner then later. Could be sharks flames or bruins
I don't see the Bruins making a move for Boyle. They have quite a bit of money tied up in their 3rd line with some guys on NTC's and next year will likely have to work some magic to sign Horton, Rask and other key players so unless they are sending some salary back to us I'd be a bit surprised of a deal happens.

if Boyle goes to Bruins i want Gregory Campbell back.. he would fit with this team.. heart and soul player and has an edge to his game..

You have to wonder, how much of that is an attempt to justify what most believe is a bloated contract, and how much of it is legitimate. One thing you can't argue is the team success that Prust has been a part of ever since he came to NYC. Still miss the player, but still not quite on board with the contract he got.

Until Lindberg proves that he can play in the NHL, we can't give away Boyle. Just because he has a chance to play in the NHL, doesn't mean that he will or that it will happen soon.

That said, I think it's safe to say that at least 2 winger prospects, one LW (Kreider or Hrivik) and one RW (Thomas or Fasth) will make it, so I wouldn't mind moving Pyatt+Boyle for a top quality third line center like Marcel Goc.

FORWARDS
Carl Hagelin ($2.500m) / Brad Richards ($6.667m) / Rick Nash ($7.800m)
Chris Kreider ($1.325m) / Derek Stepan ($2.500m) / Marian Gaborik ($7.500m)
Marek Hrivik ($0.685m) / J.T. Miller ($1.244m) / Ryan Callahan ($4.275m)
Darroll Powe ($1.067m) / Marcel Goc ($1.700m) / Jesper Fasth ($0.900m)
Arron Asham ($1.000m)

DEFENSEMEN
Ryan McDonagh ($3.750m) / Dan Girardi ($3.325m)
Marc Staal ($3.975m) / Anton Stralman ($1.700m)
Michael Del Zotto ($2.550m) / Dylan McIlrath ($1.295m)
Stu Bickel ($0.750m)

GOALTENDERS
Henrik Lundqvist ($6.875m)
Martin Biron ($1.300m)

------
SALARY CAP: $64,300,000; CAP PAYROLL: $64,107,500

Fedotenko was the best player on the line and I miss him a lot. Maybe if Philly continues to struggle, they'll trade him for a 5th or something.

I made a pitch a week ago to have this guy at the deadline, it is unbelievable how underrated he is. He is one of the better 3rd line centers in the league at a cap friendly contract.
I am not sure the Panthers want either Pyatt or Boyle, they want prospects and/or picks, they are rebuilding.

I might be alone but I don't get the Boyle hate. I would like to see more offense out of him too but we have a couple guys on the team who aren't scoring and don't bring any of Boyle's intangibles to the table. Taking last night's lineup against OTT, where Boyler was scratched, I'd take him over Bickel, Powe and Halpern. He hits more than all three combined, wins more FO's than Halpern, is definitely better than Bickel in all areas and is a better shot blocker than Powe. Add the fact that he's 6'7" and our current lack of size on this team and it should be a no brainer to have him starting on the 3rd/4th line over these three.

I don't want Boyle on the Bruins. You know with all that added toughness on the team, Boyle will finally play to his size knowing that he has Lucic and Chara to back him up. He'd evolve as a player IMO.

As will playing in front of his family. Worst place to trade him. Would love to see him go to CHI for a Danault, or McNeil.

id take McNeil... id love to get Shaw... what would it take for him...

:handclap:

Shaw, McNeil to NYR
Boyle, Yogan and Spelling to Hawks

I guess no Asham tomorrow again so I hope Boyle makes his way back into lineup instead of Bickel

McNeil from Hawks or Gaunce from Nucks would work for me.

Absolutely. Don't think either team would do this, though. Generally I'm against trading players for futures now (considering our position) but taking Boyle off this team isn't going to do much.

I thought Nancy Kerrigan was training this guy and everything was going to be great. Everyone here was on the bandwagon how this guy was a 20 goal scorer . What happened to all of you?

Anyone buy Bickel. I i initially thought I hears them announce a game misconduct against him last night and was happy. Why he plays I have no idea.

personally i would like a boyle for abdelkader deal with detroit. dont know how wings feel about this but the two players seem pretty even
