I’m going to bow out here because you and your fellow fans have provided exactly zero proof. The fact that you are trying to claim someone speculating that maybe they might be interested (when this same person admits like two paragraphs later that Canada was a non-starter for the player) shows that you have no proof. If you did, you wouldn’t have jumped through all these hoops to try to claim this.

I don’t need to waste any more time discussing something when I ask straight forward questions and am not given answers to my questions. I’ve asked nicely a few times. At this point, my conclusion is that there’s no intention to provide an answer. Or if there is one, it’s deliberate obfuscation because the answer does not benefit your team.

yeah I can understand how if you close your eyes, stick your fingers in your ears, then dance around yelling nah nah nah nah I can’t hear you - that it helps you purposefully misunderstand everything everyone is saying.

At this point you should take this up with Larry Brooks who disagrees with you about the story HE wrote.

The claim they had no INTERNAL discussion about BT is unbelievable. It's their job to consider potential trades.

ESPN’s Kevin Weekes says the Rangers “have had no internal, nor external conversations around Senators’ captain Tkachuk.”

We all know he's the NHL network official trade guy why present him as a ESPN personality like he has a regular show on there? Literally league PR.

It’s some just idiots, bumbling about trading Brady Tkachuk. Ottawa got a decent core. They just need a coach that can implement a good system, that fits the team.

They need consistent goaltending. Literally that is all they need…
Ullmark has started to play well and they win those games - Forsberg starts last game and gives up 3 goals on TWELVE shots. You just can’t win games with that.
With league average goaltending they are comfortably in a playoff spot.

Their shots against are way down, expected goals are way down…they are playing mostly pretty good hockey.

*ny continues to eat 5.6+ cap this season + next retained salary on bread

Rationale(s)
Jersey upgrades status to legit contender. No waiting on Tkachuk. Add season and a half of retained bread makes F group formidable. Loss of RD prospects = wince, but Nemec atm in the A and Silayev not even signed atm.

Sens swap high end first pair, but add RD in process, further RD with Nemec. LaF = huge fan get, local kid 1OA. Gabe P similar, huge upside ready next yr mitigates loss of Fs. Higher end salary out, useful pieces in. Surrender of Kleven is a wince and both Pinto + Grieg makes pivot thin, but that is short term. Overall, good value and a win going forward.

Rs get 1LD anchor in Sanderson albeit for a high price. Pinto + Kleven are keepers. + Grieg and Batherson flipped usefully

Rangers made a mistake when they rebuilt. They didn't go low enough to get a star. Now trying to acquire one.

Most rebuilds aren't successful if they don't get a star. Odds much more better if they do anyway

They lucked into a 2nd and 1st overall pick I don't know how you pick lower than that.

I'd say it has to do with their drafting, and player development. They whiffed hard on Lias Andersson, and Vitali Kravtsov. I don't know where the blame lies on Kakko's development, but something went wrong there.

They did something right in 2020 tho with Laf, Schneider, Cuylle, Rempe

They just didn’t spend enough time on the rebuild. They got a couple of high draft picks and had a pretty decent group of players already established so they rolled with it.

The other option would have been trading off more of the established players for draft picks and spend more time at the bottom.

But they’ve been pretty successful over the past few years so who’s to say it was the wrong decision? If they end up not winning a cup you can’t really be too upset because they got pretty close.
