Engerlanddd!
Hmm...

I’m in two minds here, mindset A) brilliant, a player with great potential who could be a strong franchise player and B) he could end up completely out of his depth and become a bust.

He doesnt need to play against lessor competition ,him learning how to score in the AHL is better
Theres nothing lesser about the OHL vs the NCAA. One just has older players who are somewhat more physically mature and the other has more skill on average. Theres pretty much no place better than the Knights organization for prospects to be. The Knights will challenge for the Memorial cup, that opportunity to play a ton of high level games for Tkachuk will be great for his development.

I expect the Sens will just keep him in the AHL though cause its the Sens and I dont expect them to make good decisions

I understand that last season the B Sens were terrible, but we do have a different coach and some good young talent being piped in there....Him playing with guys he already knows like Brown,Batherson might be a better thing for him...Playing in junior just seems like a step back...

It's more of a lateral move but he'll be able to play a huge role on one of the best teams in the whole CHL with an amazing track record and practice with better talent and the opportunity to go to a NHL training camp.

Meh iam good with him in the AHL,we dont need for him to get inflated point totals while playing against kids....Him playing with a big center that he already knows in Logan Brown ,along with some others.. Against men ..And likely in every situation, should be a much better development tool for him

No bad decisions for Brady... BU or sign. Signing has other options .. London, Belleville, Ottawa.. I still think he's be better with 9 games and to the Knights but we have to see how he does.. I just think at his best he needs to be a physical pest as well as making hockey plays. I think he needs to get stronger to bring his game against men in the NHL or AHL. Belleville will be improved but I still would rather him go to London for a year to have a lot more opportunity to work on his skills while just naturally maturing physically. I did not see a lot of skill development in Belleville last year. Those comparing Matthew ... there body types are clearly different so I don't think Matthew being physically strong enough to do his thing, means Brady is.. Brady will be for sure and possibly end up being even stronger but I think he needs another year.

Why London???seems like a step down from the NCAA....School or AHL would be my choice,he doesnt need to learn how to play against kids

Opportunity to play big time minutes, play in all situations, work on his offensive game and play for a team that has an incredible success rate in developing future NHL’ers.

Also, it guarantees him at least a look at the NHL Level, and he will have access to the Sens player development team.

What do you mean "end up completely out of his depth"?

He was a solid player in college, how could Junior prove to be to much for him?

Signing is probably for the best...it's not like Ottawa has been great in developing players lately.

Just because there's talk about Tkachuk to London, doesn't mean he couldn't theoretically play the year in Ottawa if he makes the team. I'd imagine the idea is Tkachuk will go to London IF he does not stick with the Sens beyond the 9 game threshold.

If there's truth to the London talk, it is probably because Tkachuk's a combination of Tkachuk's people and/or Sens management do not want him in the AHL right now.

While I am not saying Tkachuk should be on our team this year, it has to be considered that he was very close to being draft eligible in 2017. He's on the older end as far as 2018 draft prospects go. If Alex Formenton makes out NHL team full time this season, while it'd be a bit of a surprise, I don't think we'd be accused of deliberately rushing him. Tkachuk despite being drafted a year later is only 3 days older than Formenton. While I genuinely don't know enough about Tkachuk to know what would be the best move for his development, a full time NHL spot wouldn't be that outlandish for a top end prospect his age as he'll be 19 already when the season starts.

Assuming Brady does go ahead and sign, I'm sure that they have had discussions with Sens management on burning his ELC year. Don't think he'd have issues playing in the AHL, but I would expect his representatives would have the Sens agree to give him 10 NHL games before sending him down.

Really comes down to what the Sens and Brady's camp discuss during this negotiation process. I would expect that if Brady is leaving BU, then he wants to play and at least burn his ELC, otherwise, he'd be better returning to BU and signing when his year is done.

It's a relationship business. Last thing the Sens want is for Brady to go the Trouba route and want out as a UFA when he qualifies.

So, whatever they say to his reps during this decision making process, they better be prepared to honour.

London has a brilliant offensive defense, but Foudy as your top line center? They need to make a move for someone much more talented down the middle if they want to win the cup.

It’d be nice if London picked up a dominant overager who can score goals in bunches. Tkachuk needs someone to pass to as he’s not really a scorer himself.

Exactly.

There’s no negative to going to London. Sure, he won’t be playing against men anymore. But he’s also in the best hands possible. Look at their track record for NHL talent.

I just can’t see him making a Guy Boucher coached team.

Sadly I can see it totally happening, and then he gets 4-7 mins a game.

Boucher needs to appear like hes a changed man with regards to how he treats younger players, so I fully expect to see 1 or 2 of our rookies make the lineup this year (and play incredibly sheltered roles).

Once he signs, it's London or Ottawa. Belleville isn't an option for him since he's not an overager.
And once he's returned to London, he's there for the season.

I think he turns pro, cause he knows he have a legit chance to make a team. Sens have only 3 top#6 forwards in Duchene, Stone and Ryan. He cant be worce than Boedker, Dzingel, McCormick, Pyatt or Paajarvi.
