If a coach hasn't lost the room? Yes, it is.

If the coach has lost the room? Obviously, a coaching change can be beneficial.

I think DJ needs to be replaced.
So much this, ahahaha.

I want DJ replaced next summer, but the idea that replacing him right now is magically going to make the team better is bat shit insanity.

Insanity to think that a change now wouldn't help build towards next year

Why are you quoting a post from a month ago? A month ago is not now.

If DJ has lost the room, we should replace him now.

I think the same people who think we needed a Gary Roberts type instead of a small euro.

And would have gladly traded Alfredsson for a Gary Roberts or a Brady Tkachuck.

And no one is turning on Sanderson or Zub or Greig or Giroux or Joseph why?

Because they are giving an honest effort.
Garry Roberts is the reason the Sens didn't beat the Leafs in 2003-04.
People hated Joseph last year and wanted him gone in the summer. Grieg's a rookie and Sanderson is in his 2nd year so why would you even mention them? Zub is a serviceable Dman. He does a good job and says nothing.
Once again if you gave an honest effort you would criticize all the players fairly; but you don't. You focus on BT 90 percent of the time.

No different than people cheering when they do well.

They play like dogshit, boo's are to be expected.
I paid for my ticket so if I want to come to the game and act like a pig person that's my right! I can promise you I will not bathe and my BO will be unbearable but what can you do? It's a free country! Oink Oink Oink!
Actually anyone still cheering for this team en route to a 7th straight season with no playoffs is the real loser. Hop in.
Hop on it, SensBottom.

Probably the worst captain in the NHL currently
Maybe. However, he is a very good hockey player and potentially one of the best power forwards in the NHL. He needs to be coached and mentored. As does Sanderson and Stutzle (and Norris and Batherson and...).

Which brings us back to DJ Smith and the team Dorion built. And brings us back to the wisdom of getting an interim coach who can help address these problems. To me it is Jacques Martin.

I'm hoping Alfredsson is part of the overall mentoring solution.

My interpretation from your original post was that you were using G wearing a neck protector (at the request of his wife and kids), as evidence that he wasn’t in it to win, rather he was here to lay back and play out his career in the comfort of his home town.

I never said anything about money. It’s very obviously about personal safety, and respect for the wishes of his family.

Your defence of this ‘neck guard evidence’ showing his lack of desire to win, is backed by you saying that since we haven’t asked him, we can’t dismiss it, despite G saying the exact opposite several times in the media.
I never said anything of the sort, so you're just flat out lying now about the neck guard. I have repeatedly said Giroulx said it was family decision, not a money decision. He repeatedly mentioned in the media.

I agree. Let's end this discussion. To steal a line that's probably been used for a thousand years, entering a battle of wits with someone who is unarmed isn't fair.

Your post:

“Do you know him? I don't.

What makes you think he wants to be a teacher at this point in his life? Maybe he just wants to be a player in front of his young children?

He's wearing a neck guard now because it was a family decision, according to the media reports I heard.”

Seems a lot like you’re insinuating that his neck guard is some sort of example supporting your assertion that he just wants to play in front of his kids, and isn’t interested in being a leader/mentor on the team. Maybe it just needs clarification on your part.

But to answer your original question about what makes people think that he wants to teach his young teammates; it’s probably because he’s said as much in interviews, along with talking about his desire to win here. Could also be the fact that the longest serving captain in flyers history chose to come to a super young team that needs veteran mentorship; it’s kind of obvious that his veteran leadership would be expected and valuable.

There is no battle going on here, and definitely nothing witty. More like confusion as to what your point is. Seems like you’re trying to say that G isn’t interested in playing to win, or in helping to mentor his young teammates. To you all signs point to him just trying to be as safe as he can be on the ice because he’s just playing for his kids and retirement at this point.

Disengaged and disenchanted with idiots on Twitter maybe

I'm actually very confused with the vocal and very small minority of Sens fans that always bring this up. There's literally zero basis for the "TKACHUK IS LEAVING" notion. The whole team looks disengaged, why point it at Tkachuk solely lol.

Just chill the f*** out.

This teams twitter fanbase is the most unhinged uneducated group of canadian hockey fans on the APP. Its sad and embarassing. Its quite clear most of them havent been following hockey for very long. They are only used to a Melnyk and Dorion run team, that never has a plan. Has no patience and reacts to the maximum over absolutely everything. Trade this guy trade that guy, trade all the picks. Its too bad they didnt see how the sens were run from 1996 to 2004. I hope this management group takes on the same mindset. This is a small market team even in a cap world, draft develop sustain, build a good culture. Its a process its going to take time to move away and clean up the mess that Dorion and Melnyk made.

The level of paranoia among Sens fans is ridiculous
We have had 7 years of unpredictable leadership in management and ownership where literally everything that can go wrong pretty much has. Never knowing whats going to happen has created alot of insability. Thats all the new ownership wants before making any big decisions. However all the big brain sens fans on twitter and to an extent here think they know better. Everyone has a voice now so unfortunately we have to listen to these lunatics way more than we used to.

I dont see much talk about Tkachuk leaving. Maybe 2 posters around here.

I saw 3 posters in the last GDT bring it all up just after the game ended within a page or two. I quoted them and said they have no basis for that opinion. They had nothing else to say.

They're around and I don't understand them, nor want to lol

This is pathetic.

1. He is not disengaged. He's frustrated and possibly injured. Hopefully some of that frustration is directed at a mirror because he needs to be better, but he's always involved in the game. Opposite of disengaged.

2. Why would this person, or anyone really, worry about a player leaving almost 5 seasons from now? Suppose Brady does leave after this contract (no indications he wants to mind you), then so what? We will have gotten 10 years out of this player. If it's been a successful 10 years then we've got a cup. If the team continues to flounder then a new direction might be welcome.

I think we need to stop parroting (not you specifically, all of us) these idiots with no inside knowledge or even any common sense.
