No see, you had an excuse lined up for Thursday night that "Oh gosh, it's sure hard to play good hockey after a long break off" so I asked if you had an excuse lined up already for Saturday since we're in the business of excusing poor play because gosh darn the fellas tried real hard instead of demanding accountability.
It's just an example of the standards being so low for this fanbase that expecting a team loaded with players making 8M to play well for more than a period or two a week is just so unreasonable from us silly fans. So let's start cooking up the excuse for Wednesday if they come out flat so we can have a united front!
Impossible to play well with hurt feelings after being booed? On the road so those are always tougher games? DJ forgot the roster has more than 4 D and only played the bottom pairing 11 seconds and now late in the game it's brain fart central for an overplayed Hamonic?
Actually what I had was historical precident that teams tend to come out flat after long breaks, I was responding to somebody suggesting an extended rest was actually a positive and should have resulted in better play.
Here's the thing, I look at the context, and set my expectations based on it. I know that's tough for you when all you want to do is be upset about the results, but realistic expectations are important to me. That doesn't mean I think the team is meeting expectations right now, even with the context, they clearly aren't, but it does mean I am going to factor that context into why their performance is the way it is.
When I said I wouldn't judge their Tbay performance until they played I meant just that, your conflating excusing poor play with me pointing out extended breaks don't help, rather they hinder performance, aside.
But hey, your gotcha attempts are real cute, keep it up, maybe one day you'll add something worthwhile to the conversation instead of having trouble understanding the point being made.
