Now watch these goals. Done in by the rookie goalie!

Goal 1: Stutzle failed clear attempt. Tkachuk failed clear attempt. Giroux let's his man walk right to the front of the net as if it was a breakaway.

Goal 2: Vancouver gets a 2-1 while shorthanded.

Goal 3: Ooof... Holden. Ooof... Hamonic.
And what we’re the scores? I don’t think one big stop would have made a difference.

Accountability, desire to win, and professional integrity days.

Not an excuse in sight.

So I guess we are ignoring the whole thing with Hoffman?

Or how about how many people in the Ottawa area thought EK was a bit of a prick with the public?

Cmon man you gotta do better

I am surprised that 2015 team didn't go deeper in the playoffs. Turris, Zibanejad, Pageau down the middle.
Stone, Ryan, Michalek, Hoffman, MacArthur on the wings and Karlson, Methot top pairing D. That's a good team.
Hammond was all smoke and mirrors and the Habs exposed him in the first round. But Anderson should've been able to come in and get the job done.

But you count Kastelic? (And Brannstrom, for that matter...)

Chabot, Greig and Zub are big losses, though, no doubt.
All starters, no matter where they are in the lineup, when out of the lineup (injury) forces lower on the depth chart players, to move up in the lineup, and also be replaced from the farm… so yes, you count Kastellic and Brannstrom, as whomever is replacing them, are a downgrade.

Was a bit of a prima donna in the locker room… many Champagne corks were popped, in the locker room, when he was sent to San Jose.

Personally I don’t care about professional integrity. Or integrity in my sports at all. Just win.

Ironic the drastically different results and reaction from the mass booing in TO last night.

Yep night and day. Matthews basically said the fans were justified and the team knew they had to do something about it.

Weird he didn’t say anything about how hard they were trying and how the fans didn’t understand adversity?

You apparently didn't get the point. I'm sure you've already got all your critiques about how we play(ed) against Toronto this coming Wednesday ready, but I'm going to wait until the game before I make opinion about how they play, just like I told you I'd wait till the actually played TBL before commenting on that game.

But but your act is real funny, should take it to an open mic night or something, might get a laugh or two
No see, you had an excuse lined up for Thursday night that "Oh gosh, it's sure hard to play good hockey after a long break off" so I asked if you had an excuse lined up already for Saturday since we're in the business of excusing poor play because gosh darn the fellas tried real hard instead of demanding accountability.

It's just an example of the standards being so low for this fanbase that expecting a team loaded with players making 8M to play well for more than a period or two a week is just so unreasonable from us silly fans. So let's start cooking up the excuse for Wednesday if they come out flat so we can have a united front!

Impossible to play well with hurt feelings after being booed? On the road so those are always tougher games? DJ forgot the roster has more than 4 D and only played the bottom pairing 11 seconds and now late in the game it's brain fart central for an overplayed Hamonic?

Fans are free to boo if they like, and Brady is allowed to vent frustration about that. No harm, no foul on either side.

Personally, I don't like the booing, because I feel as fans we need to support the team, and while play has not been what we had hoped they are not that far gone...yet. just my opinion, but I know where others are coming from.

I’m not talking wins and losses here with regards to being professional. I was merely pointing out that you are wrong about EK on that matter

Actually what I had was historical precident that teams tend to come out flat after long breaks, I was responding to somebody suggesting an extended rest was actually a positive and should have resulted in better play.

Here's the thing, I look at the context, and set my expectations based on it. I know that's tough for you when all you want to do is be upset about the results, but realistic expectations are important to me. That doesn't mean I think the team is meeting expectations right now, even with the context, they clearly aren't, but it does mean I am going to factor that context into why their performance is the way it is.

When I said I wouldn't judge their Tbay performance until they played I meant just that, your conflating excusing poor play with me pointing out extended breaks don't help, rather they hinder performance, aside.

But hey, your gotcha attempts are real cute, keep it up, maybe one day you'll add something worthwhile to the conversation instead of having trouble understanding the point being made.

What's worse, Karlsson saying "I'll get what I'm worth" after an incredible playoff run or Tkachuk calling the local fans bullshit in the midst of yet another long losing streak?

It was no doubt time to move on from Karlsson. His time had expired.

But let's be real. This team, right now, has no professionalism. It's a coddled, fratboy atmosphere. Play some pond hockey and then head to Crazy Horse, win or lose. Compare us to a team like the Bruins, and we're a bunch of spoiled kids who want constant validation regardless of the results.

Matthews Marner and Nylander just started their 8th season for the Leafs, And this is the 6th season of the big 4. Starting then they have been going for it every year. So they are in a vastly different place compared to where the Senators are now.

Too bad EK never learned to play defense. Or even commit to playing defense. Brady's got time to change and become a good defensive player.. EK never will.

by the time Karlsson was Brady and Chabot age he had made the playoffs 4 out of 6 seasons playing on budget teams.

Brady and Chabot have not led a team to be competitive past November.

Cool and also completely irrelevant to the point.

Would we? Norris is playing right now, and outside of the PP, you don't notice him very much. 2-5 since he's come back.

We're not 1 player away, and we've never been.
Umm, yeah. Norris for 60 plus games and they easily make it. How would they not. Did you see who was playing center instead of Norris?
