I have no issues with Brady showing up and having a good time, but it kind of makes me laugh knowing the history of captains in this city.

If this was Alfredsson in the early 00's, Spezza or Karlsson, there'd be 1500-word think-pieces about how their disposition isn't serious enough to be captain. "Where are their priorities!?"

The years of losing have certainly mellowed this fanbase.

Ignoring the off ice stuff.

If Karlsson, Alfredsson, Stone or Spezza played defensive hockey like Brady and with his effort, they would be called out universally and justifiably, but Brady never does.

How does it make sense?

Alfredsson and Karlsson never did garbage like that live in camera like Brady seems to be doing every year. It's degeneracy and unbecoming of our captain..

Don't care personally, but didn't he say he wasn't doing that this year because the Panthers are a divisional rival and the Sens are trending up now? Could have sworn he said pretty much exactly that and that we wouldn't see him in Florida cheering on Matt.

Live & let live. Those guys also never had a brother playing on another team which is why they never did. He's supporting his brother, I don't see how it hurts anything. Everybody wants to rule the world.

Oh my sweet summer child. All but Stone got heavily criticized for their defensive play here, especially early in their careers (which is where Brady is right now).

Think he said he would be down there, but not in the stands like in Calgary

That is my point.

Those players got paid a lot of money, wore the captaincy and thus had high expectations of their performance and team play. We expected them to perform and play good defensively. Not blow the zone early every chance, cherry pick on the blue, and be lazy on the backcheck.

Brady is the opposite in how he is treated by people here. He is by far the worst defensively quality and even worse in defensive effort but he gets none of the criticism the others do. Despite getting the biggest salary and the C. Total hypocrisy.

If Matthew Tkachuk takes out Cat multiple times in a playoff series the way he did in the clip I posted, Brady better respond the same way he would to Gudas or Bennett.

You’re concerned about the response from the guy who the announcer said « jumped over the boards while the altercations were going on »?

Not to mention he fought someone later that period while Drake was going with Matthew.

And what exactly is Bath going to do? Batherson can show grit every now and then, but when a dirt bag like MTkachuk takes a run at your best player, you'd better hope your best deterrent is the first one there to do something about it.

I agree, it’d be fun to see Brady tune up Matthew.

Batherson isn’t a guy I want fighting but ultimately it’s having a response that matters. I’m sure uncle Dennis showed him a pointer or two.

After the Cat incident Sanderson immediately came in and dropped the gloves with Matthew (totally ineffective and not ideal but the intent was there), then Bath dropped the gloves with him, after those situations DeBrincat himself challenged Matthew (who said no).

Meanwhile Brady got tossed for tuning up Staal as a second altercation.

Brown also tried to go with Gudas and Kastelic with Smith.

The sens aren’t the leafs. They did respond when Matthew was his rat self. While I’d love to get even tougher, adding a Reaves or something, this is a non issue for our team IMO.
