Yep Boston sucks too, enjoy.

About as good as the rest of your takes, so I'll assume this is a genuine post.

Here's the thing. The Bruins have had the President's trophy locked up since late January. I can forgive them losing to the Hawks in a nothing game. And I bet you their coach told them flat out that they didn't come ready to play.

Now if you're playing for your playoff life and drop a dud like that? One has to question whether you A) were ready to play that night or B) whether you give a shit at all.

I happen to think most of this team's players give a shit.

They came ready to play, as witnessed by the first period, but they lost, ya it sucked,

Luckily I’ve moved on from that game,

They came ready to try hard. They weren't ready to be mentally tough when things didn't go according to plan and they folded like a cheap suit.

I wasn't talking about Jack just Quinn.

I said Brady could be a 60 point forward who can hit 70+ if he plays on a line with a better talent. Is that such an awful take? What do you disagree about with that assessment? I mean even now its looking pretty spot on as Brady is putting up that pace while playing with a supernova Batherson. And nothing to take away from Brady who is playing at a top line level but it is clear that Drake is the one who stirs the drink on the top line.

and I mean how is saying a player can hit 60/70+ points saying he has bad hockey sense or low skill? I'd say it's near impossible to put up 60+ points with bad hockey sense in the NHL.

As for calling him a 2nd liner, that's what he has been for the last 3 years, 50 point pace and yes he was bad defensively too. However lately he's been a + player defensively and making much better reads. So am I lying now or was I lying before? Because clearly there is a difference in his play.

If someone called Stutzle a second liner right now but he becomes a 1st liner next year are you going to call the person who said he was a 2nd liner this year wrong? That makes no sense.

I project players based on their hockey sense. When they are good skaters it just makes it easier to be confident in them.

This trash take already looking worse and worse.

A few games left but Brady is almost at 40
Goals and 80 points.

You pulled out a Dec 2021 post to respond Wow to? Wow

At that time Batherson was definitely driving play for that line. He made most of the zone entries and was making plays.
See post above mine
Wasn’t the first, never looked at original date.
Guess you only cared about the second post.

Come on, it's blatanly obvious to all hockey people that Tkachuk is becoming a premier powerforward in the league & Stutzle is turning into a superstar pt producer playing with Tkachuk & Sanderson looks like he is also going to be a stud defenceman & we have another one in Chabot. Brady does so many things right & is part of a top six that has 5 guys who could put up 60 plus pts which is a rarity in the NHL. They are all good & with Norris next yr the top six could be even better if DBC is re-signed which I believe will happen. They will also need to find a #1 goalie this summer.

And now the defence is starting to round into shape as we see the possibilities of Kleven being added to the group at some future point. They just have to stay healthy & keep playing like this to be a playoff team next yr & given they are built for the playoffs & don't back down from anyone anything can happen. Brady is also proving what a great leader he is given how close knit this group is, they have an excellent leadership group with Giroux, Hamonic & Chabot & should only get better as these young guys mature.

Lol do you know how much scoring has changed from when I made the post to now? 60 points used to be be big deal and now if you don't get at least 60 you aren't even that good offensively.

And even at that point I said that Brady would become a 70 pt forward (in that post!) especially if it he plays next to an elite line driver so his production of 80 points now playing next to Stutzle seems pretty in line. So where is the disconnect you are seeing?

But uh go on trying to dunk on couple year old posts to compare point totals.

We are talking about a post made a year or so ago. We aren’t talking 80’s hockey in terms of how much “scoring has changed”

This is another reason why you can’t be taken seriously on these boards

Yes and there's been a huge change since the start of that season and now. Huge.

We are probably closer to the 80s and early 90s scoring than any other point in NHL history.

You get too emotional about my opinions.

You want to show the data that proves this?

Anytime someone calls you out, you deviate to name calling or otherwise to deflect from your ridiculous arguments and posts.

the data is everywhere, just go look at the leading point totals from that and previous years and contrast it to last year and this year.

Hockey has gone from the referees leaning on the side of the defense to leaning on the side of offence. More calls for slashes, tripping, cross checking means more space for star players. Goalie equipment has also shrunk and there has been a paradigm shift of coaches wanting 10 goals a game instead of shutout wins. Defenceman also jump up a lot more into the play now, which means more offense both ways. Huge shift in the philosophy and scoring in the game.

And no I try to bring my opinions with facts, logic and eye test. I don't flame out on others opinions but merely just question what their reasoning and logic was that led them to those opinions. I know I'm not always right, but having strong opinions and consequently stress testing my own and others opinions is the best way I have found to approach the truth so that is what I do.

You guys don't actually ever argue with me. All you guys do is call me a hater cuz what? I said Brady is bad defensively ?

Guess what, he is bad defensively.

You didn’t show any data and I’m not talking about his defensive game.

I pointed to his offensive game which has already surpassed what you expected as his “elite seasons”

You are straying off topic and not answering the questions as usual

Link? Because from my simple google check average goals/game this year is 3.18. Last year was 3.14

3.18 is the highest goals/game since 93/94.

In the post you quoted I said he could hit 70 which probably translates to 80 now. And even if you don't buy that argument I was off by 10 points, big woop.

That's what you're trying to "gotcha" me about?

I think they were ready for the game too. They couldn’t convert on their chances early and Chicago stuck around and it got in their heads . The coaches job is to manage the mental aspect of the team that loss was on DJ for me

It isn't a negligible amount.

There is a reason the amount of 70 and 80 (and 90, 100) point players have exploded in the last two years
Lol never seen a poster run around in circles so much to avoid owning up to their horrible takes. There’s more top end talent in the league. Thats why there’s more high end point totals in the league. It’s not rocket science. That average 0.04 goal difference between the time you made the posts to now equates to 52 more goals across the entire league for the whole year. In other words, negligible. In no world does it mean 70 points back then is 80 today.

The difference between 3.14 GPG and 3.18 GPG is 1.3%
The difference between 70 and 80 pts is 14.2 %

Once again you are wrong. :thumbd:

that post was made in December 2021 so I was still basing my mental models off previous years data vs that 3 month old season. Scoring has exploded last two years.

And there are 3 points for every goal so looking at it like that isn't fair, not to mention the increase in scoring will concentrate more on the top lines since they are ones who play the premier scoring minutes as well as the powerplay. The rules were changed to benefit these players.
