in fairness Tkachuk has a long way to go to reach those playoff teams. Those were some great and bad memories but atleast we were constantly in the playoffs
Alfredssons first NHL playoffs he was 23. Hopefully Brady can do the same.

- in Tkachuk's rookie 2018 - 2019 season he was 5th in scoring on the team at 19 yrs of age
- in his 2nd season 2019 - 2020 he led the team in scoring at 20 yrs old
- he then went on to lead the team again in the 2020 - 2021 season as a 21 yr old
- he lead the team again in scoring in the 2021 - 2022 season as a 22 yr old who most never thought would be much of a goal scorer or point producer
- he is again leading the team in scoring for the 4th season in a row as a 23 yr old & is proving that he is quite durable

Really thought Stu would be the all star rep for Ottawa, but no issue with Brady being selected. He has a lot more personality than most players in the league. Stu can still be voted in as well

Let's be honest it will be Leafs and Habs players.

Yeah and proceeds to come up flat the next two games. He should start taking his captain role seriously and conduct himself as such. Not these immature shenanigans.
Agreed. Brady is definately overcompensating with the off ice "I want to be likeable" antics. Just produce and lead the team bro no one cares about that other stuff.

Young guys who are friends playing a game they love making millions of dollars out on the town having fun. How many of us would love to be in their shoes? As long as they are doing it safely & not putting anyone at harm, good for them. They are building popularity with other young people in town who will come to games & become fans of the team. Everyone should try to enjoy their life, we only get one & youth & a hockey career doesn't last that long.

I agree, as long as they're also still playing at 100% on the ice, as well.

When it starts to affect their job, then it's time to dial it back.

Really? Not satisfied with the non stop complaining about the on ice performance of the team we are now complaining about their off time as well? Are they supposed to live a super bland life so that they don't upset your sensitivities? At 20yrs old out having a good time? The horror of it all!! Partying on your day off... what will we do??? Some people can find bad in anything...

Personally I'm happy they are out enjoying the town rather than suffering in Ottberia.

You would have hated the teams when there was only 6 of them as they partied all summer, smoked cigarettes during the intermissions, spent most nights in the bar after the games. Bobby Hull, as an example, was a huge acholholic, so were many other "stars" of that era.

Bottom line is do you really expect the players to be anything other than normal 20yr old kids? It's not like they are out partying every night geez!! "Ottawa the town fun forgot" seems to apply here.

Sweatred?? That you???

anyway this is clearly about his on ice play. If he played as hard as he seems to party no one cares.
He leads the team in scoring for the 4th yr in a row, his on ice play is better than everyone else on the team. Complainers will always find something to complain about.

This isn't the flex you think it is when his main competitor was Connor Brown.

How is his on ice play better than everyone's when he's literally the worst defensive player on the roster?

Shit on Stutzle, shit on Chabot, shit on Drake, shit on 1m 3rd pair d Brann, etc and that's all good.

But complain about 8.3 m team captain refusing to do the bare minimum and that's out of bounds? Lol

You simply don’t have any credibility in this thread.

Oh yea, despite all my arguments being based on facts, statistics, and easily verifiable eye test, I'm the one who has no credibility.

But the people who think Brady is already a better captain than Alfredsson and Karlsson, despite literally having done nothing, are the credible ones.

🤔

Pretty much dude. You’re like ‘Sweatered in the White thread’ in here, you have to know that.

Sweatered had ‘facts’ too!

And he was actually right about White too.

But I critique anyone who I think deserves it, Chabot , Stutzle, Drake, Hamonic, even Alfredsson and Karlsson.

No one cares if someone rightfully critiques those players. But do the same thing to Brady and it's like they are making fun of Terry Fox.

I'm reminded of Trump saying he could shoot someone and his base would protect him. This feels like the same.

You just downplayed Brady leading the team in scoring 4 years in a row as a 23 year old player. That is a major feat for a kid on any NHL team, and a sure sign that he’s a pretty great young player regardless.

You do have similarities to Trump style posting, I’m not surprised you’ve noticed the feeling.

This is where you start your whole victim cycle again I see. As in the White thread, the real conversation happens around the Sweatered/Agent Zub posts.

What do you think happens if they had switched Connor Browns and Brady's deployment?

Staple Brown to the 1st line with the best linemates and the most PP time and put Brady as the shutdown match up line playing tough matchups with worse linemates and worse PP time.

And Brady out produced Brown by what 1 or 2 points, you think that still stands?

And anyway how is leading a team in points with that is tanking such a big accomplishment in the first place? It's like saying Dick Tarnstrom was a great NHLer because he led his tanking team in scoring as a defenceman.
