Tkachuk is becoming the player some of us thought he would when they drafted him, he is becoming the premier power forward in the NHL. He is big, he is tough, he is fearless, he will hit, fight & is a much better passer than most thought & has turned into a very good goal scorer & point producer. He's also shown that he is a very good captain that will stick up for teammates & carry the team on his back. Getting the Gordie Howe hat-trick last night & coming from behind to win it OV was epic.
He's starting remind me of prime Bertuzzi, but with a better personality lol.

Couldn’t agree more, nice to see some of the Zadina guys, saying they were wrong.

Brady doing legend making stuff lately. Gotta love it. We hear so many questions over whether certain players will be motivated to maximum effort after signing their big contracts. Hard to imagine anyone questioning Brady's character that way. Guess that's one way character counts. If we are worried the player may not have the character to compete once he has signed a big contract, we should probably pay attention to character as a draftable trait.

He'll go down as Ottawa best player ever, he's almost there now & he's only 23 yrs old.

Has the potential for sure, but will take a while before he passes Karlsson and Alfie.

Will need to prove himself in the playoffs like those two before he’s even in the conversation.

Super happy to have him as our Captain

Feels like you can replace Brady's hockey stick with a walking stick and sunglasses when he's playing defense and there would be no difference in play.

He's gotta be better as the guy who wears the C.

need a better coach

none of these guys have had an nhl calibre coach yet
They better get one fast because it will become difficult to break all the bad habits.

Tkachuk in the ozone can work like a madman but you almost will never see him do anything defensively. He need to step that part up a lot.

true, but what happened to personal pride and accountability?

exactly, I have never seen a greater variance in effort between a players offensive and defensive game.

this isn't just about Brady not knowing how to play d, its about the non existent effort. The former sure hopefully he learns, but the latter? there is no excuse for a captain.

Love Alfie, but outside of the 98 and 07 playoffs, not really remembering much else. Especially leading Ottawa to those losses against Toronto. Don’t forget he was almost run out of town after the 06 playoffs.

In fairness he was more effective after the 07 playoffs…

in fairness Tkachuk has a long way to go to reach those playoff teams. Those were some great and bad memories but atleast we were constantly in the playoffs

No! I would have taken missing 3 of those years for sure if it meant we gave up assets to pick up a player that was actually helpful in the playoffs against the leafs the 4th time.

To me there hasn’t been a more soul crushing stretch of hockey in franchise history, and the sad thing is that those demons still need to be slain and we missed out chance last time around when we were good and the leafs sucked.

I’s take a ground up rebuild over losing to the leafs 4 times in a row all day end day.
