We'll judge him on his salary like we are this year and hopefully he'll be a $10.5M forward by then.

Why, as fans of the team and not business partners with Melynk, should we care about actual salary being paid to a player over their cap hit which actually affects the overall construction of a team?

For a team with a tight internal budget like ours, yes, absolutely. Dollar paid matters more than cap hit and has for the last 10 years, don't know how you've missed the memo this whole time.

You are talking about judging a player based on dollar paid, which makes no sense since we are comparing him to other players around the league based on their respective cap hits.

This internal budget thing is slowly being removed from the argument as we start signing players long term, and it has already started with White, Chabot, Batherson and Tkachuk. The money is being spent, the core is being kept together so far, so your argument is eventually going to hold zero water.

wow Brady was a beast today. His passing has been frustrating but he was laying dimes today.

We need Keith to come to more games.

laundry list of players that have done this in the Ottawa community. He is one of many
Of course, and the higher profile a player you are, the larger the impact. Stu playing with the kids is great too. Having the captain out playing with kids is nothing short of awesome for the young fans.

“One of many” isn’t a detraction if that’s what you’re getting at.

Brady brings the joy of childhood to hockey whether he’s playing street hockey with kids or his hard play in the ice there’s an enthusiasm there that is for a very special person.

Alfie and EK didn’t have the genuine guy in the street factor Brady has. He’s a true original

what does this even mean.

genuine street factor is just odd way to put in when 2 of them who don't have it actually came from humble origins and had to sacrifice a lot more than Brady has.

No idea what humble origins have to do with, being like a regular Joe blow citizen. One would think having a star player as a father, he might be the opposite in terms of down to earth.

just that no one can here can relate to Brady's upbringing.

to me the regular joe citizen would more be guys like Alfie and Karlsson who came from nothing and made sacrifices that many of us regular joe blow citizens have to make to chase our dreams.

vs Brady who grew up completely alienated from that experience.

Yet it’s Brady playing street hockey with kids.
