I'm excited to see what Treliving does in season to improve our defense. It's no secret he loves big mobile defencemen on the backend. I don't believe he's a fan of Brodie so I can definitely see him being moved out, as well as improving on Giordano as our 6th defenseman and pushing him into a limited 7th defenceman role.

My trade targets are,

To Toronto-
Andrew Peeke

To Columbus-
Calle Jarnkrok
Nick Robertson

To Toronto-
Connor Garland 25% retained
Ian Cole

To Vancouver-
TJ Brodie
Alex Steeves

Bertuzzi-Matthews-Marner
Domi-Tavares-Nylander
Knies-Minten-Garland
Gregor-Kampf-Reaves

Rielly-Peeke
McCabe-Klingberg
Cole-Liljegren

He had a paid July first 2M signing bounus and 2M in salary the 5. 625M is the LTIRed cap hit. Still, it may make him the highest paid scout. Or the lowest depending on what he gets for scouting and we separate the two incomes.
He's not playing this year. He's getting his contract pay as a scout instead of sitting at home.

Yeah, he is getting that 2M + whatever he is getting as a scout.
Well, no. Technically he's getting the full contract amount which includes the bonus to be a scout. The signing bonus is included in his salary for the year, just like the players.

Yeah, he got the bounus in July. He will be getting his salary 2M. + whatever he gets as a scout. This the third time I have had to type this.

And the sad part is you still aren't getting it. He is getting his full salary at $5M + to be a scout - which is what is happening here. Players get bonuses and salary throughout the year - but both equate to the full yearly salary, which again, is what is happening with Muzz. Don't confuse yourself.

He is not getting a 5 M salary because his salary is 2M he does a have a bounus of 2M but it was paid in July. A simple look at cap freindly might help you with your confusion. AAV and salary are often different. Jake Muzzin Contract, Cap Hit, Salary and Stats - CapFriendly - NHL Salary Caps

Now all you have to do is look at the 2023-24 season the first column lists the Cap Hit which is 5,625, 000 Then there is the AAV which is 5, 625, 000 then there are the performance bonuses - there are none. Next the signing bonus which is 2 000 000 which was paid July 1, 2023. Following that we have the player' s salary which is also 2, 000 000. The last column lists the total salary for 2023-24 which is 4 000 000. They get this number by adding the signing bounus and the base salary.

So you just explained my point and I'm not sure why you are spinning your wheels and continue to be confused. He got his bonus on July 1 and will get paid throughout the year for his full salary to be a scout. This in total is north of $5M to my original point. The signing bonus is included for the year (23-24), for the job, and in this case, its to be a scout. I am not sure what you are not getting. The bonus is included for his yearly salary, just as it is for the players. For instance, JT gets paid most of his salary on July 1 and the remaining throughout the year. You wouldn't classify JT to get paid $2-3M to be a player, you say he gets paid his full amount. The situation is no different here. Hope that clarifies it for you

The confusion is that Muzzin is only getting $4 million this season in total salary and bonus, so unless his scouting gig is worth over $1 million this season, the total will not be close to being 'North of $5 million'.

Now that you read my response for the fourth time, you can understand my original statement how he's getting paid $5M+ to be a scout and not "$2M".
Now, you are just playing. I gave you the link to cap friendly and explained it to to you.

Nah you're just burnt because it's not $2M. Hopefully you understand that the July 1 bonus is included for payment for the year.

How does 2 (bonus) plus 2 (salary) equal 5+?

Whether you consider the bonus as part of his salary or not, 5+ is his cap hit, not his earnings this year

My responses were that the bonus and the salary during the year are totalled together for the year - that's what he's getting paid for the gig, not just the $2M as this guy has been saying.

Wow! You kept quoting me saying (in my first post) saying "Lol

But really you were arguing with another person.

Lol

He's getting $4M total plus whatever he's getting as a scout.

That's your error.

You wrote $2M - I wrote it word for word. The total is $4M plus whatever he is getting as a scout hence my $5M+ multiple responses to you.

Lol good try. You wrote an inaccurate response which I clearly showed you and corrected. My stance has been the same all along.
