Brad Treliving is doing a great job.

Do you think he was a better GM when he started his apprenticeship or when he left?

Again we are comparing him to Treliving, who not only took a phone call from Reaves’ agent, but actually signed him.

He didn’t take a call from Reaves’ agent, his agent was the first guy he called in FA and offered more money and term than anyone else lol.

now your trying to shift the goalposts but based on his work with the Pens i'd say if he's improved it ain't by much

I wouldn't have signed Reaves to a pto but is that worse than signing Ritchie for 2yrs then having to pay to dump him half way through his first season ?

i could list a bunch of bad moves from Dubas including from his last t/d when he traded a 1st/2nd for McCabe who should be on the bottom pair but it really doesn't matter since Dubie's fan club refuse to look at his record and will blindly support him regardless of how many bad moves he makes

I'm willing to give him a Mulligan on that one, considering how rushed he was.

I think we should give him at least this coming summer, and likely next as well (when JT comes off the books), before we compare him to the multi-year disaster that was Dubas.

oh the horror , lol

how would you compare this disaster with

-trading for Murray
-trading for Foligno
-signing Ritchie
-trading Kadri
-trading two 2nds and a 3rd for Gio
-trading a 1st and 2nd for McCabe

Dubas let Hyman walk in favour of players like Kerfoot and Engvall. I hated it then, and I hate it even more now - obv.

Dubas couldn't get out of his own way. Perhaps Tre can't either but that doesn't mean I'm pining for the previous GM because the current one hasn't done much in *checks notes* 8 months with the team.

F off with the Dubas talk. He did more damage to the team than he did good and the good he did do was trivial at best.

considering you cheered on Dubies every failed moved and are still distraught over him getting fired i find it very amusing your losing your mind over Reaves who isn't even as bad a signing as Ricthie was

Can you try to stay on topic about Treliving’s work as GM? I can’t imagine how profoundly our former GM must have influenced your mental state for you to keep a mental spreadsheet of which internet strangers liked which of his moves, best wishes for getting over it.

I am on topic , i'm just wondering why one of our former GM's most devoted supporters who cheered on every bad move he made has all of a sudden done a 180 and is losing his/her mind over even the most minor of moves of our new GM has made .

You’re right you caught me, the only way anyone can disagree with spending about 15 million United States Dollars on Kampf, Reaves, Bertuzzi, and Klingberg is because I am pining for the return of a GM that I repeatedly complained about making the team slower, older, and less entertaining for his last 2 years. Everyone who isn’t biased like me loves Tre’s moves this offseason.

Reaves is a mistake but Tre made the deal knowing it would only cost him $200K max per year if he had to bury him with the Marlies. At least we do not have to give up a first or move 12-15 slots down in the draft to get rid of him.

I’m not shifting anything. I compared him with Treliving and said every teams the league would pick Dubas between the two.

You went on about a bunch of crap and made fun of his glasses, completely ignoring the original post.

Fair, but what really scares me is Treliving with cap space. He ‘s done nothing to give me confidence he can do the job.

i guess your upset we don't have to pay to get rid of them like we did with Ritchie/Mrazek , lol

maybe you should go over to the Pens board and ask them how they feel about the 6 yr deal Dubie gave Graves lol

there wasn't much in free agency last season so Tre only gave out 1 yr deal outside of Reaves who's easy and cheap to bury so what is it you were looking for him to do ?

bunch of crap ?

i asked what is it that you loved about Dubie's tenure here and you can't list anything but then keep going on how he's some sort of genius that every team would love to have

You don't need to compare. What's next, comparing the current coach to John Brophy or the current owner to Harold Ballard?

Klingberg was his worst UFA signing and he sent him to Robidas Island. Reaves will cost us $200k in cap space, worst case. Bert and Domi were coming off good playoffs. Maybe they would look better if they were given some PP1 time? At the end of the day, we are not married to them so all in all, I'd say he did OK, given he had 6-8 weeks to prepare for July 1st.

I didn’t say I loved anything about his tenor as the Leafs GM. In fact I disliked him.

What I said is he worked hard and realized his original plan of building a team didn’t work and that he learned a few things along the way, and that I believe every team, given the circumstance, would hire Dubas over Treliving.

And you go on with a bunch asinine crap about his glasses.

Don’t forget what it cost for boy wonder to get rid of one season of Marleau………

Definitely could be better, most definitely could be worse……..

judging by the summer he had in Pitt he didn't seem to learn anything

and why is his fan club so sensitive every time anyone mentions his fake lens glasses ?

In curious which off-season Dubas spent over 15 million dollars on about 10 goals and -30 worth of defensive play by the all-star break.
