About a year late, but glad they finally called their spade a spadeThis whole tanking thing is new but I'm kinda digging it.
Picture this:: after another first round exit, Marner leaves. Matthews and the goalie are hurt again. A washed up Tavares is the first line center... Tyler Seguin 2.0 here we come. The last time the Bruins got a first round draft pick from the Leafs was the most fun we had on this board in 23 years.
Still waiting for the Marchand return to drop but I'm like 99% of the way to worshipping Sweenius
Murphy's law confirms this will happenPicture this:: after another first round exit, Marner leaves. Matthews and the goalie are hurt again. A washed up Tavares is the first line center... Tyler Seguin 2.0 here we come.
why? You think a guy who is long past his prime, just had 3 surgeries and is 36/37 is worth more than a shut down, RHD with a great contract? Not me, I want another first for Marchand, not so sure he`ll bring in more than CarloLove that Carlo return. Marchy better be more.
It should have been more I agree but the Bruins weren’t really dealing with a position of strength. Marchand likely wasn’t coming back until the playoffs and the Bruins aren’t making the playoffs. He was really only beneficial to teams like Florida.I guess a 2nd (cond. 1st) is all the return is.
Absolutely brutal.
Sweeney did great on the other deals but this Marchand return is completely sours the whole day. Trading away one of the franchise's greats for a pathetic return, and to one of your top 2 rivals.
Absolutely given away. Leave it to Sweeney to put a drop of poison on the Sundae of an otherwise very good deadline.2027 2nd rounder (Conditional 2028 1st if unknown conditions are met) for Marchand. Guess our Captain wanted another shot at Lord Stanley. Ugh I’m going to hate seeing him in that Panthers jersey.
Then don’t trade himIt should have been more I agree but the Bruins weren’t really dealing with a position of strength. Marchand likely wasn’t coming back until the playoffs and the Bruins aren’t making the playoffs. He was really only beneficial to teams like Florida.
I mean it’s better to trade him isn’t it? If he wasn’t going to play another game for the Bruins this season why hang onto himThen don’t trade him
Traded for maybe 15 games he will be backI guess a 2nd (cond. 1st) is all the return is.
