Still waiting for the Marchand return to drop but I'm like 99% of the way to worshipping Sweenius

As much as I'm inclined to give him credit here for most of these trades. This feels mighty similar to the euphoria felt after the Lucic, Hamilton, Jones trades before the 2015 draft..... Just saying.

Picture this:: after another first round exit, Marner leaves. Matthews and the goalie are hurt again. A washed up Tavares is the first line center... Tyler Seguin 2.0 here we come.
Murphy's law confirms this will happen

It also sadly confirms that in 10 years we'll trade Seguin 2.0 for the ghost of Alex Barkov and waiver wire trash

Carlo is my least favorite Bruin in ages. Giving him to Toronto is excellent. Only downside is it will motivate his lazy ass.

Marchand Florida is weird. But if he gets a huge extension and declines that is good.

An UFA who may not play until April and is an UFA 2-months later.

A bag of pucks is more than Brad would provide the organization for the next 30 days.

Dislike where he's going and can't root for him . . .I just really hope he gets healthy. He may be pressured into returning before he's fully healthy and it shortens his off-season regimin to be ready for October.

**** Would have rather seen him sign a solid one year deal. Get stronger and healthier with LONG off-season and have a great 25-26 season. He may have shortened his career on this move.

2027 2nd rounder (Conditional 2028 1st if unknown conditions are met) for Marchand. Guess our Captain wanted another shot at Lord Stanley. Ugh I’m going to hate seeing him in that Panthers jersey.

I guess a 2nd (cond. 1st) is all the return is.
Absolutely brutal.

Sweeney did great on the other deals but this Marchand return is completely sours the whole day. Trading away one of the franchise's greats for a pathetic return, and to one of your top 2 rivals.
It should have been more I agree but the Bruins weren’t really dealing with a position of strength. Marchand likely wasn’t coming back until the playoffs and the Bruins aren’t making the playoffs. He was really only beneficial to teams like Florida.

Traded for maybe 15 games he will be back
