Boston Core are bunch of Frauds

I haven't read through the 6 pages of this but I read the title...

Boston had Bergeron only in game 7, with a herniated disc

Krejci played in what? 3 games? Also clearly hurt.

I don't think they're frauds, I think they hit the injury bug at the worst possible time at a critical position, centre.

This is coming from a Leafs / Blackhawks fan.

McAvoy is so overrated. He’s nowhere near a top 10 defenseman in this league. He’s like a Ryan McDonough overrated.

I’m not surprised one bit they lost to a much younger, faster, and brutal opponent.

Pastrnak is the only real star player on that team. Marchand has regressed, Bergeron and Krejci are retiring, and Ullmark…. I have no clue what type of goalie he is. He’s like Markstrom, too much of a wild card goalie.
McAvoy is overated, i agree on that...but Bruins whole D was bad in playoffs. This PO exit doesnt fall solely on McAvoy shoulders, Lindholm wasnt good either and he just got nice contract.

Panthers werent faster and more brutal than Bruins. For me, they had better goaltending and made less mistakes in own end...this whole series is one big sequence of mistakes by Bruins D.

They just overperformed during the season. They faced a team that underperformed. The Panthers won 58 games last year and are arguably a better team on paper this year.

In reality, the teams are pretty close in quality and the Panthers had been playing playoff hockey for six weeks just to make it. That's why I had them in my bracket.

We try to extract way too much meaning from this sport. It's all just numbers rattling around the tumbler of random results. Everyone who makes it to this level has what it takes to succeed.

Problem is the defense. Gave the puck away all the time. Need a rebuild. Turns out they needed something different than Orlov. Gavrikov would have worked better.

I think OP has a point, 2011 was a generational carry job my Tim Thomas, but the core after that has melted down in so many big games, 2013 game 6, 2014 game 7, 2019 game 7, 2023 game 7
It's hard to win a cup. They at least got it done once. I wish I could say the same for my team (here's hoping).

Tim Thomas honestly saved that core.

Without his one season heroics, Boston probably had the most chokes of any core in NHL history

I also want to say, Boston did have the lead with a minute left, lost the lead on a bad goal, and almost scored a few times in OT but just didn't slip one past Sergei B who made huge saves. They lost in the narrowest of margins.

It's not like they didn't "show up" or anything. Like... it's one thing if they had a great year, then fell flat in the playoffs. But they lost a close series in a tournament where anything could happen, and things just didn't go their way.

It could happen to any team. And I HATE Boston teams and their fans lol.

It's actually insane how bad MacAvoy and Lindholm were in that series, and particularly Game 7.

MacAvoy gave the puck away in his own end almost every time he touched it....and while not even under duress or pressure

They failed spectacularly but the Bruins went all in for one last push before those guys left. That's the right move.

I wish the Wings had done the same while they still had Lidstrom instead of mortgaging the future for a stupid playoff streak.

Exactly. People are making the argument that the Bruins are bigger chokers because they actually made deep playoff runs, and somehow the teams that kept washing out in the first round were lesser chokers.

I like Lindholm but McAvoy is hugely overrated. Elite top 3 dman in the NHL, ya right.

Do people forget about 2011? They've been consistently good. You wish your team had the success they've had if your not a fan of a few select others. It's just not easy to win in the playoffs. Evidence of so many situations.

Chara was huge too and even Seguin was great young depth that was let go

You guys are forgetting that core won a cup? The shit takes you vultures have make this place a shitshow.

For a team that had one of best defencemen, centre and 2 goalies who were top 3 in their peak. One cup is kind of pathetic.

"Boston's core is a bunch of frauds"

Well damn, the other 31 teams got their asses handed to them all season long by a bunch of frauds. They all must really suck.

Meanwhile the Penguins couldn't even beat Chicago and Columbus, 2 of the worst teams in the entire league, to get into the playoffs 😂🤣

For Years, people called out other teams Teams like WSH, PIT, TBL, NYR, EDM, etc.. for not getting the job done after consistently having great teams the regular season but falling short in the PO's time and time again.

Meanwhile, BOS is the biggest frauds out of them all, they have had amazing core and role players, they have played in spectacular fashion in the regular season consistently for the last 10 years, only to not win the cup, yet i never see anyone call them out in a ways i seen some other teams have.

Worst part for them is this was their last chance to win the cup, Bergeron is gone, Krejci is most likely gone as well.

Tears are by nature salty.

You want to call them out. What are you calling BOS out on?
