"Boston's core is a bunch of frauds"

Well damn, the other 31 teams got their asses handed to them all season long by a bunch of frauds. They all must really suck.

Meanwhile the Penguins couldn't even beat Chicago and Columbus, 2 of the worst teams in the entire league, to get into the playoffs 😂🤣

That doesn't really make any sense. The Penguins weren't frauds because nobody thought they were very good. The Bruins on the other hand appeared to be one of the greatest teams in NHL history, but turned out to not be.

Without question you need to have a really good team to win a Cup but there's a lot of things that still have to go right over 4 playoff series for a team to win.

Fans also don't tend to respect all that much the teams their teams play against. If their team ends up as one of the top 5/6/7 teams they almost always think their opponents suck. Every year there are upsets though.

It was more a shot at the s*&^talker who started this thread who appears to be a Pens fan 😉

Sure, if your point was that you'd rather be the Bruins right now than the Penguins, then that's totally fair. The Penguins failures this season were entirely predictable, so I can't see how they were frauds, they were just plain bad

I kinda feel that the Bruins were victimized by their own success.

I say this as someone who didn't watch the series, but could it have been a case where the Bruins haven't had to play actual meaningful hockey in weeks, as they would have had the President's trophy wrapped up ages ago, while the Panthers had to compete until the very end just for a chance to play the Bruins?

Maaaaybe.

I think when you have nothing to play for you need to set your own goals. Like Tiger at Pebble Beach in 2000. He was destroying the competition, but to keep himself going he set a goal for himself - don't make a bogey in the final round.

But the Bruins had clear goals right there in front of them: get the wins record, get Pasta 60 goals.

Well we're both now in the same position so it doesn't really matter. And I wasn't saying the Penguins were frauds. Just that they sucked and couldn't even beat 2 of the worst teams in the league to make the playoffs. The schedule maker gave them a gift and they couldn't even finish it

They're a very efficient team, even when they're down, and the drawback to that is that clawing back into a game wasn't much of a thing this year. That OT just looked like they did not know how to attack and battle with urgency.

They won a cup 12 years ago. Who cares.

2009 they should have defeated Carolina. Lost game 7 at home in OT. Win that? Good chance they beat Pittsburgh.

2010 was a choke. But nobody was beating Chicago that year.

2012-Choke. No business losing to Washington.

2013--They had a golden opportunity in game 6 to beat Chicago. Blew it in a span of 16 seconds.

They had no business losing to Montreal in 2014. None. They win that game, I think they get to the SCF. Great chance to win.

2019-No show at home against St. Louis in game 7.

2023-Disaster.

These Bruins have no business ever being compared with the Pens or Bolts. Those teams got it done. Back to back. TB three straight SCF.

Winning the cup is all that matters. They totally underachieved. And Bergeron needs criticism too. Great guy and player. Not enough production in big time moments.

Oh, and if Cassidy is coaching this team, this series does not make game 7. They are getting ready for Toronto.
I'm not sure if you're a Bruins Fan, but you sound incredibly entitled right now. You know how many teams would kill for the success that Boston has had over the last 15 years? Probably around 25 or so. My team hasn't won a cup in the last 30 years and has made it past the second round twice in that time frame. The Leafs just broke a 19 year drought of winning a single series. There are multiple other teams in the league that haven't seen a cup final in 20+ years.

Fans like this don't deserve a team as good as Boston. Spoiled.

I guess I missed people proclaiming them THE team of the last 10-12 years. I feel like they been well respected, but not a whole lot beyond that.

I don’t think the 2011 cup win invalidates the OP. The current core of the Bruins had almost nothing to do with that win which was about 95% because of Tim Thomas.

Cool they won a cup 12 years ago...Should've won atleast 1 more cup if not 2. They have had some amazing teams. They've choked, plain and simple!
Well not every team gets handed numerous #1 picks because Bettman loves the owner. Maybe the Boston owner should threaten to move to Hamilton-Kitchner-Waterloo, or Kansas City unless they get their wish?

Maybe they should but they would probably choke at doing that too...

Well, they could do a better job at tanking, I agree.

Actually, You maybe right though, Boston probably have been tanking in the playoffs to get a better draft pick all these years.

Very overrated. Even for their cup win they had three series go to game seven and needed very favourable reffing in the finals to win. Doesn’t hurt when the son of the head of DOPS is on the team and he is texting the head referee complaining about calls to his son.
