Touch wood.

The Panthers have a lot of firepower. It‘ll be very hard. I voted Bruins in 6, but anything could happen. God help us.

Anyone trying to draw similarities between this series and Tampa getting swept by Columbus is only looking at their records and nothing else. There are not the same warning flags above this Boston team as there were with Tampa. The only similarity is their records. Boston will win in 5 just because I don't like predicting sweeps.

Not sure why Hathaway keeps getting brought up when the cats played against him vs wash last playoffs and the only thing I remember about him was missing a series ending empty net lol. Cats have Gudas, Cousins, Smith, Lomberg, Bennett (who hopefully plays) and even Montour to an extent who are pretty pesty at times too. Should be some fun agitating both ways!

This is the team I wanted the least. The islanders suck and wouldn't win a game against the bruins. They dump and chase more than any team in the nhl other than the canes and the bruins erase that kind of offense better than any team in recent memory. ANd pittsburgh, well they are the kidn of team that loses to the blackhawks with the season on the line.

The cats have really talented players and strong underlying numbers. They are by far the scariest of those three teams. that said, all the narratives around their run to the playoffs are silly. Hot team! 6-3-1 in their last 10! Bruins 9-1. Hot goaltender! lol cmon

The bruins are a far superior team to the panthers and should win this series pretty easily but the panthers are the only team in play for the wild card slots that had the talent to change the narrative. I'm nervous for sure. Should be a good one. Ultimately, I think the bruins are more talented top to bottom and have displayed a determination this year that I've not seen in my life that it would really surprise me if they dont bring it hard. this is the only wild card match up team that has the real talent to push back against that, in my opinion.

Bruins with the gentleman’s sweep in 5. Panthers manage to win game 4 because they play well with their backs against the wall but that’s it. Bruins are too well constructed.

I don't see why this would be a super easy series for the Bruins.

Despite Maurice, Panthers are full of high end talent, playing as the underdog and Bruins have faced like zero adversity all season.

Depends on bergerons health. Without him, the teams defensive chops drop a lot and the panthers have a turbocharged offense. Bruins might not be able to contain without him.

I can see us maybe taking a few games but winning the series is incredibly unlikely. Bruins are just too good, they do almost everything better. 1st in GA and PK%, 2nd in Goals. The only thing we match them at is our powerplay and offense (if it gets hot). Meanwhile, our GA and PK is at the bottom half of the league. It will take a hot goalie to save that side of our game because I don't see our defense as a group suddenly getting better anytime soon.

But even more in their favour is their team is full of proven playoff performers. Pastranak, Krejci, Marchand, Bergeron just to name a few have all had excellent postseason performances and overall solid playoff careers while our core has been dissapointing in that regard with a few exceptions.

Too much has to go right for us and I'm not holding my breath, but anything can happen. If we somehow managed to win the series it'll be the most impressive thing they ever did since their Stanley cup final run, but I'll be satisfied if they at least play their hearts out and give the B's a hard time. (Unlike the Tampa sweep)

A few weeks ago when the pens and Buffalo were still making their push, my only first round preference was NOT Florida. Such is life.

I give Florida virtually no chance in this series. Maybe Tkachuk can will them through a game or two, but I doubt it. Boston in 4 for me...I wish it wasn't the case.

Boston should obviously feel confident but this was probably their worst draw out of the potential options. Florida's been like a top 8 team in the league this year by most underlying metrics and they've gotten some hot goaltending lately. Definitely shouldn't be a pushover.

And in that 6-3-1 record they compiled they beat: Leafs, Sens, Jackets, Caps, Sabres, Canadiens. One playoff team. And lost to: Canes, Leafs, Sens, Rangers. 3 playoff teams.

I think it'll be a good series, but the hot narrative is a bit overblown, given that they had a somewhat easy schedule to end the season.

Good luck Panthers fans, should be a good one
