Bruins in 6. I am reading through the Bruins thread and am surprised at how confident their fans are to already win the Cup. I fully expect Boston to win this series, but the best team in the regular season rarely wins. Also the Bruins have 1 Cup in 50 years against a notorious choking franchise and have choked multiple years (2013, 2019, hell '96 vs Florida) we'll see how well this post ages but it's a long post-season.

What "Bruins thread" is that?

It’s only 3-0 who cares
I think the Panthers have the best chance for an upset, out of all the potential wildcard teams. And I really hope they make a series out of this, and would be thrilled if they took down the giant.

But being objective, there's no reason to vote against the Bruins right now. BOS in 5.
If Bennett was back, I’d like our chances a little better, would be another great piece to our offense. But our defense is very suspect and we’d need Lyon to go on a Giguere run.

"Bruins in 3"
"should be an easy win"

So how does confidence that the #1 seed can beat the #8 seed in 5 or 6 games (as the poll states) translate into "how confident their fans are to already win the Cup"? I see nothing in that thread about a guaranteed Cup win, nothing at all.

I just thing you dont know what adversity does mean...adversity is when thing didn't go the way you hoping, failures, misfortune... its how youre reacting when everything looking against you, when you need a high resilience and need to find everything you have inside you to overcome a pretty hard situation... sorry its kind of situation Boston didn't faced at all this seasom...yes they faced difficulties like everyone but its not adversity

If you consider regular season and playoff ( when youre playing to stay alive) as the same...

Losing 1 game and looking like you will lost a second one in playoff, youre in trouble ... in regular season youre fine and everything is ok...

Its really too bad that all players get their minds wiped after every season. If that wasn't the case, I am sure the Bruins players could be able to draw on all kinds of previous lessons in adversity from losing game 7s in the Cup Final to being knocked out in the first round after winning the Presidents Trophy to having to play through injury. But since Obama and Bettman and Venezuela started using space lasers to wipe the Bruins memory, you now have me very convinced that this is an issue.

Bruins have been playing playoff games the past 15 or so games. Both in getting everyone's best punch and facing and beating teams fighting for their playoff lives, all they did was go 15-1 while also resting guys

The only caveat I'm leaving for Florida is that this Bruins team have been playing meaningless games without any pressure for at least half a season, while Florida just managed to claw its way back into the playoffs in a long series of must win-games.

The old guard can probably handle the big increase in pressure, but can Ullmark, Pastrnak, McAvoy and Lindholm?

Still voted Boston in 5.

Pasta and McAvoy have been to game 7 of the Final, I'm not worried about them.

I have been waiting for someone to bring up Ullmark though! And of course its a Buffalo fan!

Yeah, it has been a magical season for him. But, his playoff track record is very short and very not good.

Pastrnak and McAvoy have been fantastic in post season hockey.

Pasta has 74 points in 70 playoff games.

One thing that should be talked about more if it was any other team

Ullmark career playoff stats last year on the Bruins .860sv% 4.16GAA

What are the chances this guy lets down the team? Similar to how Freddy Andersen was a monster for us until it mattered.

I know people will say Swaymen is there, but let's be honest he is half the goalie Ullmark has been. It might be enough, but will Boston really sit their Vezina winning goalie after a bad game with their season on the line? What if he craps the bed against Panthers offense?

I'm a Bruins, but this Florida team has a lot going for it. Two 40 goal scorers. I hadn't been watching them too closely this year and didn't realize Montour went off for 73 points, very impressive. Barkov obviously is an elite shutdown center, and Bennett and Staal can definitely play strong defensive games, too. Bob's numbers are underwhelming but he is definitely capable of turning it on. I could see this series being a battle.

Bruins dodged a bullet in NYI who, while not talented, will play very hard (and have a top tier goalie).

Not sure what to make or expect of Florida? They have nothing to lose anyways, so that may help?

Swayman has been great since new years, and he has 20 wins on the year himself.

Sure, but Bruins fans are lying if they say they are equally comfortable with either goalie. Ullmark is THE guy for them. He is going to start every playoff game unless he is hurt. He's the guy they've played in all the big moments.

And Swayman's playoff stats are pretty mid as well

How is predicting they'll beat the 8th seed the same as "being confident they'll win the cup"

The thing is, Ullmark doesn't have a playoff win yet. He played both games down in Carolina last year and lost both, Bruins swapped him with Swayman and the Bruins won the next 2 at home and went with him the rest of the series.

Just saying Swayman has some playoff experience.
