So you're saying you can't point to a single instance this year. Not surprising, since there hasn't been one. If you wanted to compare Tkachuk NOW to Marchand of 5-8 years ago, absolutely valid. But saying they're the same now? That stretches believability.

Ok let’s dance. Brad was fined twice this year. Literally in February got fined for a dangerous trip against Bork on The kraken. And I guarantee if I spent an hour or so going back I could find multiple instances. You make it sound like he’s a reformed saint. You just said there wasn’t even one but i can and will find more if you want. Not trying to argue with a fellow bruin fan. But the take is bad. Also Brad just started to slow down In the last two seasons. And still has been suspended and fined multiple times in that span. Oh also January 5 he had a fit on the bench and also got an unsportsmanlike on the damn bench….. he also is top three in goalie interference penalties in the last three Seasons. That was with five minutes of research. I can keep going tho.

2010:
The Philadelphia Flyers become the third team in NHL history and the first in 35 years to win a playoff series after losing the first three games when Simon Gagne scores a power-play goal with 7:08 remaining in the third period for a a 4-3 victory against the Boston Bruins at TD Garden in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals.
They broke Krejci's wrist and he missed games 4-7.
In 2011, he tore them up in a 4-0 sweep on his way to being the playoff point leader during the cup run. He never gets the credit he deserves for that cup.

Sure, keep going. I'm assuming you can back up the other claim of another fine this season, because I sure can't find it. The fine for the "dangerous trip" was based purely on reputation, as have many other DOPS decisions.

And pulling out an unsportsmanlike penalty for being angry that a blatant dangerous infraction wasn't called? yeah, that's weak sauce, and if you're using that as comparison to Tkachuk, then you're really reaching.

Marchand is no saint, and yeah, he's not been totally as clean as I had remembered, but Tkachuk recently has been worse, which is exactly my point.

Basically, Marchand plays on the edge and so does MT, MT is at the beginning of his long career and Marchand is at the end. Marchand is trying to stay out of trouble because it got to a point where he would get disproportionately punished due to reputation. Whether or not that’s fair is a different discussion

If MT pulls the same shit Marchand did with the same frequency, then eventually the league will be tired of it and he’ll get the same treatment Marchand does

It’s why while Marchand would be a good captain, the team will likely make McAvoy captain instead. The bruins are going to lose a lot of arguments if it’s Marchand trying to talk to the refs constantly.

I like MT’s edge. I’m not into going after guys in ways that injure them and or do things when they aren’t suspecting it. Never liked it when Marchand crossed that line and I don’t like it when others cross the line.

Never had an issue with Marchand low bridging that Canuck player years back because that player was gunning for him and Marchand made him the clown. But hits to the head and unsuspecting slew foots and shit like that have no place in the game. Spineless and could end careers

Oh yes, that‘s an even worse one because the Bruins were actually up 3-0 in the series. The series completely changed when Richards took out David Krejci who had been the best player in the entire series. Everything started going south, fast. And to add to the pain, the Bruins were also up 3-0 in game 7 and lost 4-3, as indicated by you above. If I remember well that game, Lucic was one of our scorers. I sort of remember him celebrating his goal. Yeah this series was the worst. Thank God the next year we wiped the bitter taste out with a Stanley Cup (and a sweep of the Flyers in the Conference semi final…).

In 2010 we were up 3-0 though (hence much, much worse. An historical debacle). The only 3-1 I can think of in the past 20 years is the one I mentioned vs the Habs in 03-04.

I had voted Boston in 5. Pleasantly surprised to be wrong. I still think Boston takes the series, but I would at least like to see the Panthers win one for the home crowd. Very, very poor showing at home in games 3 and 4.
