I’d say I don’t think Sharangovich is a great PP option so I get him getting little time but Wood keeps getting rolled out there and I think he’s generally been actively harmful to the PP this year.

I know Wood brings some unique traits but other teams force the Devils to give him the puck on the PP knowing Wood will make poor choices with it.

Anime just means animation from Japan, so yes those count, with the one caveat that they used to butcher the shit out of those shows for the US TV market (Speed Racer hilariously so).

They aren’t just your generation’s shows because new kids got fed reruns of those shows for decades after they came out.

My early childhood has some classics Both Star Blazers (Space Battleship Yamato) and Battle of the Planets (Gatchaman) came out in 1978 thanks to Star Wars.

My favorite around that time, by far, was the much harder to see Galaxy Express and Captain Harlock. I drew many terrible drawings of Harlock as a little kid. He was a total baller.

I think I mentioned this before, we couldn’t get cable so we had everyone’s favorite fake cable of the 1980s, WHT (Wometco Home Theater).

That gave us Channel 68 and access to New Jersey’s Greatest Cultural Treasure: Uncle Floyd.

I loved Speed Racer given the paucity of quality animation available for kids in thr mid to late 1970s. I had no idea they were edited. I thought that jumpy weirdness was what made it anime. I remember one episode when they revealed the secret identity of Racer X.

The only anime reference I know is Anya from Spy x Family, which I'm currently watching!

I've been casually getting into anime the last year and a half and watched some that some friends recommended like Death Note, Parasyte, Odd Taxi (really liked that one), Cowboy Bebop (which I absolutely loved), Psycho Pass and a few more, but if you have any recommendations, I'd be down to take a look!

I think @TheUnseenHand is a big fan too, if you have any recommendations don't hesitate! :thumbu:

There are a lot. Won't crowd this thread, but Steins Gate is what my avatar is from and it was quite good.

I think it’s fair to say he’s a good offensive player with defensive deficiencies. On a different team maybe they cover that up better?
I’m not even sure he’s a good offensive player.

I would say he’s a good goal maker. I have trouble saying much more because he’s deficient at so much else that makes offense.

Funny you should mention it, a few months ago I was browsing looking for some new anime to watch. I saw the Steins Gate cover and I instantly thought to myself, "That's TheUnseenHand's avatar"! I recognized it instantly haha!

I'll look it up, thanks for the suggestion!

Barely worth what he is being paid now. No chance we should give him more or a long term deal.
He’s a good fourth liner and has to be evaluated in that context. Whatever a good fourth liner makes would be fair for him in my view. Look at some of the fourth line guys out there that play. I don’t know what the number for Wood should be but at a reasonable number I’d be hard pressed to send away a guy who can play - even if flawed - and who obviously cares. I’d rather have him then Zacha for example.

Sure. For a 4th liner he's good offensively, even if that is mostly just getting goals and not much of anything else. there's value in that.

But he's overpaid already at 3.2M imo and it's not going to get better. Wish him nothing but the best.

None of the devils ones are particularly interesting imo, the guys who are good look good etc etc

I don't even think other teams do this, but just in the course of operating a power play, it will end up on a forward's stick and he has to figure out what to do with it, and Wood consistently makes poor decisions or cannot execute.

It's clear they want this second unit to be a shooting PP where guys just go to the net, but I don't know how they get set up.
