Any group of Devils fans going to the game from south Orange County? I'm looking to see if I can join a group and maybe make some new friends out here before I do this solo since my usual +1s can't make it.

Recommend the Disney bundle.

Disney, ESPN+, Hulu

$13 a month. The Disney app is fantastic so thats worth the price alone.
If you have Verizon, it's also included in one of their unlimited plans.

Honestly, compared to paying however much a month for HBO max or Peacock or shit, it's a great deal. I'll miss MLS being on ESPN+, but you still get most NHL games, tons of international soccer, and a bunch of other random stuff on there, and it's basically free tacked on to Disney+ and Hulu.

Not of a fan of these national games. Way, way too much babbling over the play by the multiple color commentators. ESPN also likes to toss graphics on the screen like the standings when play is going on.

Fortunately, my brother-in-law has an ESPN+ account that I'm able to use, but I couldn't get it to work on my TV last game, couldn't get my phone to project it onto the TV (was only doing sound) and finally just watched on my PC which I'm assuming I'll just do tonight. I swear this league does everything in its power to make watching the actual games more and more difficult.
I don't mind TNT but ESPN is terrible imo.

From Jersey w/ Love
Honestly, so far Cowboy Bebop is my favorite by far. Love the character development, the story, the soundtrack and just the vibe is general. The fact it was made basically 25 years ago is also wild, watching it when it first came out must have been crazy. Absolute classic imo.

samurai champloo is a good one - similar vibe. I really dug bebop. And even though the live action strayed from the story... i personally just thought it was so much fun to watch.

All the great ESPN documentaries being on there is a good bonus as well.

I’m really starting to detest Trevor Zegras and it’s not his fault.

But he’s the most overrated player in the NHL. By far. The next time I have to hear he’s better than Hughes I just might snap.

Is the old stuff from my childhood like Speed Racer and Gigantor considered anime?
Anime just means animation from Japan, so yes those count, with the one caveat that they used to butcher the shit out of those shows for the US TV market (Speed Racer hilariously so).

They aren’t just your generation’s shows because new kids got fed reruns of those shows for decades after they came out.

My early childhood has some classics Both Star Blazers (Space Battleship Yamato) and Battle of the Planets (Gatchaman) came out in 1978 thanks to Star Wars.

My favorite around that time, by far, was the much harder to see Galaxy Express and Captain Harlock. I drew many terrible drawings of Harlock as a little kid. He was a total baller.

I think I mentioned this before, we couldn’t get cable so we had everyone’s favorite fake cable of the 1980s, WHT (Wometco Home Theater).

That gave us Channel 68 and access to New Jersey’s Greatest Cultural Treasure: Uncle Floyd.

Guy gets put on the NHL game cover before deserving it, and thereafter more is expected of him.

Not his fault, but you're right that he's overrated and it's a fair criticism.

The TNT studio is way better than NBCSN. The last thing I care about is watching Mike Millbury and Jeremy Roenick use a telestrator to point out something that I already watched with my own eyes.

Chelios and Messier are awful in the ESPN studio though.

I never listened to any of them so I don't care who is on during intermissions for national broadcasts. The only talking head stuff I actually watch are the Devils MSG broadcasts

I don't know how many or which games but there are going to be free MLS games available on Apple TV even though all won't be available.

Plus there's gonna be games on TV on Fox and FS1 as well
