We managed fine with Pronger and MacInnis...
Different owers with more money. This ownership group can not afford the loses other groups have had in the past.

Obviously its not his ideal spot but he hasn't looked out of place at all.
You don't think he looks out of place, come on, i know we disagree on asset managment but you are not blind. Ideally cole would be on the third pairing this year, not playing next to Petro going up against the likes of Toews, Kane, Perry, Kopitar, ect.
I am not blind, I have been able to see that Cole has played well

Is that why he is sitting tonight so that Redden can play?
No he's sitting because Redden needs to get playing time as well, Russell has been sitting out lately and now its Cole's turn, he will be back in the lineup Sunday.
Too bad Jackman and Petro never found chemistry.

You can't point to our record in the faceoff circle and then ignore the fact that Bailey is not any better than Alex Steen. He does have an all round game, but he would not be playing C in St. Louis when everyone was healthy. It is just a massive downgrade from Perron on LW.
MacDonald is the main piece coming back, but he is far from a sure thing. He is not an automatic top pairing guy on a playoff team, the only way he works in that role is if he perfectly compliments Pietrangelo here. That is not a risk we can afford to take with an asset like Perron. Plus, I think he goes to UFA next summer. I'm not sure you go from being massively underpaid for the last 3 years of your contract to taking a discount on your true value o your next deal.
Perron for Kulikov, or similar, makes a lot more sense.
Like I mentioned, what other forward would you include with MacDonald to make it a fair deal? We all see things a bit differently. I see Bailey having something to prove and the pressure is off. Not final pieces, but pieces in the deal worth the Blues including in the deal. Add picks either way or another/different player. They have other centers.
He still playes on the second pairing. We need someone to play on the top pairing to otherwise we will continue to have Cole/redden type players going up against the other teams top lines. And look how well that has been working out for us.
Blues looking at Nikolai Kulemin. Sounds like Toronto may be interested in Schwartz.

Strickland mentions it there, and also somebody said Darren Dreger mentioned the same thing on the radio last week or something, so there's gotta be some truth to it.
Schwartz and Cole for Kulemin and Gardiner? That makes the most sense if Schwartz and Cole are being discussed. If Schwartz is involved, then Gardiner has to be involved as well.
I like Kulemin, but not for Schwartz.
Gunnarsson and Kulemin together would make sense. Not sure I would involve Schwartz though.
