Pretty great year!
Indeed. Hat trick today for Bolduc. Finished tied for second in goals in the Q. Have the Blues ever drafted a player who has scored this many goals in juniors in his D+1 year in the modern era (year 2000+)?

Bolduc became the franchise’s 3rd best goal scorer with 55 in a season. Alexander Radulov (61) and Eric Chouinard (57) were both in their D+2 year when they had their best season. He is also the first player under 19 yo to score 55 goals or more in the QMJHL in 16 years.

Bolduc was close to finish first in the league in goals. He was 7 behind Dufour (who finished first with 56) after the COVID break and only finished 1 goal behind him at the end. That's 34 goals in his last 29 games for Bolduc.

Quebec finished first in the QMJHL and will face Chicoutimi in the first round. Its a 3 best out of 5 series.

Ty Rattie absolutely lit up the WHL in his D+1 season. 57 goals, 121 points.

I’m sure I speak on behalf of this board in thanking you for all of the updates throughout the season!

Depending on potential moves that may have to happen due to the cap I’d say there’s a 50/50 shot he might return for one more year unless he just lights it up in camp and forces his way in, which could happen.

I’ve had more fun following junior hockey than my NHL team this season. :sarcasm:

It would suck for us Remparts fans if he didn't come back next season but at the end of the day the goal of junior hockey is to see these kids grow and reach the next level, in the NHL, the AHL, other pro leagues or in college.

Hopefully Blues handle Bolduc better than the Rangers did with Anthony Duclair. The last time Quebec lost a 19 yo to the NHL was in 2014-2015 with Duclair. He had scored 50 goals at 18 and Rangers made him start the season in the NHL. He played 18 games with New York but he didn't have much ice time. They sent him back to Quebec after the World Junior Championship but the transition from New York to Quebec was tough mentally for him. He was traded to Arizona 2 months later while he was finishing the season with Quebec.

I also hope a NHL team ends up drafting his center Theo Rochette after being passed over in the last two years. He played a big role in Bolduc's 55 goals season, as you have seen in the highlights with the tape to tape passes. Bolduc mentionned it when he reached 50 goals that he couldn't have done it without Rochette.

We’ve been pretty lucky in the sense that this organization usually doesn’t rush a prospect. Funny enough the last one they (arguably) did rush ended up being a 30 goal scorer (Tage Thompson), and that ultimately ended up working out, just like Duclair as you mentioned. I could see a 9 game trial and then go from there.

I’ve been a fan of Duclair since watching him play for the Coyotes.

He’s a puck hound and skates well. Great combo.

Neighbours held off scoresheet but his team completed second consecutive sweep. On to WHL semifinals.
I say this not having seen any of their games to know how he is playing or how he is being used, but as a 20 year old in that league I find his lack of offensive production a little concerning. His team is 8-0 in the playoffs, but aside from an OT goal he’s not really contributing on the scoresheet the way you would want a D+2 1st rounder to impact these games.
