Am I the only one who is getting increasingly annoyed with Bautista for always arguing balls and strikes. When was the last time Donaldson did that? Or Martin, although he was annoyed at Joice (I think) this past series.

Huh?

Other than that time the ump flipped out and threw Bautista out of the game, I can't remember that being an issue at all this season.

Did I miss something over the weekend when I was away and missed a couple games?

No, not really. Maybe kind of, depends on how you look at it.

I don't think Phaneuf is as far gone as Reyes (who really can't play SS anymore).

And I don't think Tulo ranks as high overall in the game as Stamkos does.

Probably will get some arguments, but I see Stamkos as easily a top 10 (maybe even top 5) player in the world. I'm not sure Tulo would be the same. I can easily think of 10 players I would rather have than Tulo.

Umm a healthy Tulo is EASILY a top 10 player.

yeah maybe that because of the age
Stamkos' injuries i was thinking as a comparison

Really hard to compare since baseball teams have a much deeper pool of prospects.

If the Leafs traded Marner, they would have Nylander and ???? left in the system.

The Jays still have Norris, Pompey, Pentecost along with Stroman, Sanchez and Osuna at the major league level.

You don't notice Bautista react to called strikes? It seems like it's 60% of the time or more that he reacts. He doesn't always look back, but it appears (to me) like he's always shaking his head and muttering.

EDIT: Which, I would assume, is why he got the toss in that game.

I'm guessing you don't know who tulo is, and u havnt watched the jays in quite sometime. I'm upset with losing Hoffman too, but reyes was such a liability in the field

LOLLLLL are you for real? this is all i ever see you post when people disagree with you. Longshot has a valid point and all you can say is "You dont know who Tulo is"? Really man? Im pretty sure anyone who has watched 10 baseball games in their life knows who Tulo is. The Jays have a garbage rotation. You cannot win games 15 to 3 in the playoffs against teams with good pitching. You are not feasting on guys at the back of the rotation on bad teams in the playoffs. Teams with good pitching will shut you down, period. You need an ace, atleast one above average arm, and 2 pen guys. Thats 4 pitchers, but AA goes out and gets a bat? Amazing.

I love Tulo too. He is awesome. One of the best players in the game, prob the best shortstop atleast right now until Correa gets a few years under his belt. But you need pitching, not hitting.

Obviously don't want to see Hoffman moved, but the Jays hoard pitching prospects to make moves like this to hopefully not have it set the team back.

Two things I take away from this that I will give credit to Anthopoulos for:

1. Within less than a year, he turned a weak middle infield into a very strong one with the acquisitions of Tulo and Travis.

2. As much as he may love certain players, he is not married to them. Reyes was his favourite player, and moved him. The same thing with Wells. How he got out of both albatross contracts deserves praise in and of itself.

In previous years it was an issue.

I haven't noticed it at all this year other than one time. And it was reported that time Bautista asked the ump a question and the ump blew up and caused the confrontation.

My observation is Bautista has really locked that problem down and it hasn't been an issue this year.

Oh, ok. I might just be looking for it because it annoys me and perhaps seeing more than there is to see. Fair enough, that's good to hear then.

In the past 12 months AA has turned an infield of Arencibia, Lind, Goins(?), Reyes and Lawrie into Martin, Smoak, Travis, Tulo and Donaldson for the replacement cost of Baretto, Nolin, Graveman, Hoffman, Castro, Tinoco and Gose (and we got Estrada back for Lind).

That is...insane. Extremely significant upgrades at three positions for the cost of one A prospect, 2 B prospects and some other guys.
