He usually is, but he's been oddly inpatient this year. Hopefully with some protection he reverts back to his K/BB % from the last two years.

This is true, but the main issue is that if there are contending teams they're likely not willing to give up Starting Pitching to improve their bench or catching spot.

Tulo walk rate is only 6.8% this season, lowest of his career. K rate is career worst too since rookie season which was only 25 games. He's still hitting the ball hard as hell though.

Who leads off now? Travis didn't do that well when Reyes was moved into that spot earlier in the season... Then again with all those hitters behind him, Travis could be a big benefactor of seeing a lot of fastballs at the top of the line up. Pillar maybe? Maybe they recall Pompey and try him out?

I can live with the cost of acquiring Tulo, provided that AA doesn't gut the farm system to acquire help in the starting rotation. We have a surplus of offensive firepower, and it's time to deal from a position of strength to address our primary area of concern.

You need to exclusively buy historic player jerseys. Get a Clark or Gilmour jersey and like an alomar or Roy jersey. My only jersey is an olerud one

After being burned with Romero and Schenn jerseys, I put #22 KEY on the back of my most recent one. This is the way to go.

Probably just a bit of a blip. Plenty of things that deteriorate with age, plate discipline isn't generally one of them.

I'd go with a Donaldson/Bautista/Tulo/Edwin/Smoak/Martin/Colabello or Carrerra/Pillar/Travis.

Give the most at-bats to your best hitters and score like 10 runs a game.

They all hit Rhp insanely well though. These are all guys you can really pitch to, no matter who's on the mound.

This is the perfect time for Rogers to open up the books to add a top pitcher now(Buyers market for Pitchers, best hitting lineup in baseball), but very unlikely that'll happen. Wouldn't mind 1 more relief pitcher and an outfield guy though.

My DREAM would be adding Price and Cespedes.

Do you have any idea how much that would cost?????

The key about this deal is we get a huge upgrade while only moving one of Norris/Hoffman. Tulo isn't a rental either.

Tulo K rate has been consistently high this season but in June and July, he has walked 9.3% and 12% respectively. It was rough early in April and May when he had only 2.5% and 3.4%.

Travis or Pillar. Would like to see Pillar in the lead off spot for a bit.

Doubt they bring up Pompey given that they have Bautista, Pillar, Collabello, Carrera.

I didn't say any of that.

I was disappointed and angry with the trade because they used prospect capital to acquire a player that doesn't help the team's two biggest needs: starting pitching and bullpen help (I don't view Hawkins as a big improvement).

That is a perfectly legitimate response to this deal.

There is no "sky is falling" aspect to my concern or "real GM" kind of snark.

And, there are real concerns about Tulo's health status, contract and possible decline (others have posted his lower walk rate and higher strikeout rate this year).

I don't think Pillar gets on base enough to bat high in the lineup. If they called up Pompey I wonder if they eventually slide him into the leadoff spot depending on how Travis does. I think Donaldson stays in the 2 slot.

I agree with Tulo higher in the lineup than EE.
