A great win, for so many reasons.

- Full compete, effort and motivation against a weaker team after a big win against the champs
- Win against a divisional rival
- Payback for multiple tough losses in the last decade
- Dano celebration game
- Hischier playing like the best guy from 2017 draft
- Plenty of points all around, Bratt streak continues and goals for our three dmen!
- F Johnny Gaudreau, you unprofessional flyers fan

''What went into the thought process in giving Vanecek a second start in a row?''

What even went into the thought process in asking that question? Was that guy serious? Is that Morreale asking that? I don't recognize the voice, but he was the one suggesting Blackwood might start the home opener to ''re-establish confidence'' after sharting himself in the opener in Philly.

I wasn't even shocked Vanecek started this game and I'm somewhat irrationally paranoid that we're gonna throw Little Richard in there at any moment out of pity.

I was actually almost more shocked he started Tuesday and maybe even a little bit on Friday than the fact he started today.

It was actually a third start in a row.
“What even went into the thought process in asking that question?”

He reads the board and was deliberately trolling you.

New Jersey(No Fanz!)
New Jersey Devils raped jackets.

I never regret we didn`t sign Gaudreau, he can svck his own balls. And average goaltending help this team to win, evrey move of Fitz help this team to be better. And a couple of very talented players of course) Nico is awesome. Selki level season.
Considering who is currently on our 4th line and the "situation" he's involved with, I think that is a very poor word-choice, my friend. 😬

Vanichek is far from mediocre, though.
He’s average. This is a nice run, but there are still some shaky moments with rebounds. Does this hold up if we are giving up 30 shots a game instead of 20, I don’t know.

He should be up to about .900 sv%, which is good enough. If he can hold up the next couple months I would have no problem spending a 1st on another goalie and firing Blackwood into the sun.

He's gonna be the Jack Adams favorite by Thanksgiving. This team is for real and gonna be the story of the year it looks like.

I believe it's every shot attempt split by players, the size of the rectangles how likely it was to be a goal (expected goals) from 0.0 to 1.0. Basically Devils had 6 expected goals for, columbus had 0.9 expected goals for, and you can compare players just based on eyeballing it.
I said this previously, if they hold this up and make the playoffs he will win the Jack Adams (just based on how the award is voted). And then he won’t have his contract renewed as the organization cannot afford to let Burnette walk.

Colorado fans are as fairweather as they come. Are only around when they win

Plus Makar is the most overrated player in the NHL; Bobby Orr my ass lmfao, dudes success was the product of the team and has been bad this year

This sounds oddly familiar....

Also, idk why you're hating on Makar lol. He's legit. He was a big reason for their success, not the other way around.

It also feels great that they can win a close 1-0 game a few days ago then come out with a barn burner putting up 7. Gotta win a variety of ways throughout the year. Keep it rolling in Canada!
A 1-0 close game vs a team you don't want to run and gun with(well maybe we do). But yeah the way we have been dominating in general our ability to play a tight to the vest game vs the Stanley Cup champs was impressive.

I know we're all amazed by how badly we always outshoot the other team, but even on a team of guys willing to rip it from anywhere, Zetterlund still stands out as a volume shooter. I'm happy to see him get rewarded for that shoot-first mentality today.
Scored his goal on the one timer today too, judging by his highlights last year, it's a strength of his.

Bratt added one, and has at least another on his ledger this year.

Wonder if anyone keeps track of one time shooting %, vs non one timers.

I don't know about spending a 1st on another goalie, but I'd fire him into the sun.

Are we really gonna pay him $3 million next year (along with like $3.4 for Vanecek) if he's playing anything less than considerably above average this year? We're already at shame on me and fool me twice. We gonna go for fool me three times?

Especially when we gotta re-sign Bratt. We could get the same goaltending from some bum for minimum wage than spend $3 million him.
