I don't think Jiricek should be playing in the NHL right now. His weakness is going to be exposed way too much. He should be getting used to the speed in the AHL.

This is what I thought would happen down the stretch last year - well, okay, not this, but just having the 3 Hs and Bratt together for a run of games would mean controlling more of the play. What they're doing now is simply incredible. The Cup teams didn't do this.

I wasn't even shocked Vanecek started this game and I'm somewhat irrationally paranoid that we're gonna throw Little Richard in there at any moment out of pity.

I was actually almost more shocked he started Tuesday and maybe even a little bit on Friday than the fact he started today.

I know we're all amazed by how badly we always outshoot the other team, but even on a team of guys willing to rip it from anywhere, Zetterlund still stands out as a volume shooter. I'm happy to see him get rewarded for that shoot-first mentality today.

The crazy thing is there was a tweet/interview after a loss where Nico was like "yeah, this system is confusing". The next day they were "going over system things" according to Amanda and then they start winning. Did they need 3 years to finally admit they don't get the system and for Lindy to explain it to them like they're 5?

I don't think it's necessarily that the system was too confusing. There's a big difference between understanding the theory and actually executing it. On top of that, you're playing against real players, not AI.

Just try to survive the next four games. I would start VV versus to Vancouver to try to make sure they can secure results. Then sacrifice Blackwood vs either Edmonton or Calgary.

I really really love what he brings to the team. It's funny how we went from terrible RW depth to filling it with guys no one expected in Mercer and Zetterlund. Should Holtz just get sent down at this point?
