I brought a friend who had never been to the rock before. I also warned him beforehand that it was probably going to be empty.

I was thinking earlier today and wondering if he was in attendance today just for the Dano day? I didn't expect him to appear on the broadcast or anything, but it felt like a game he might be at and probably would show up for, unless he had prior obligations.



For all I know, he did this voiceover sometime during the offseason, if not even before he officially stepped down from the role/organization.

Honestly, I think this best describes us now than it ever did. At least the attacking part. We've been fast for quite a while now, but we haven't really been much of an attacking team at any point until maybe last season.

I'm not so sure. Imagine the game was 4-4 or 4-3 coming out of the second. It's a totally different dynamic. Devils stepped on the throat and that's harder to do when you feel like you have to protect the goalie from good chances.

To be fair, u simply can't compare what Blackwood faced with Ovechkin breakaways, Bratt first assists to the other team and ridiculous net front coverage to what Vanacek has faced. We've dominated a couple of games. Blackwood had a three game win streak with the team playing well and him stealing one. Vanacek has made the big saves when we need them, and he's given up goals when hung out to dry (like on the one that's managed to banish Holtz), but we've been pretty damn good in front of him.
Anything else is revisionist history.

I was rooting hard for them to get to 50 shots too. The 50th was like, a dribbling backhand that was easily covered and I literally cheered. One or two other folks around me knew what was going on, but I think several thought I lost it

53 shots is just wild, even if there are a lot of low danger shots in there and even if CBJ sucks. It's still impressive.
