You saw The Man from Another Place in person?! You have been blessed.
He walked past me at a bar in LA carrying a martini and that wasn't even the weirdest part of that night.
So, you're saying Blackwood and a 1st for a retained Gibson isn't off the table!?Also, one thing is certain. CMac is still pushing. The Avs may not get back to contending, but it won’t be from a lack of effort by the front office. They are pushing and trying to get the right mix (while having limited assets and cap), and really that’s the best than can be asked of them.
I'm not even sure this is a Bednar doghouse thing. If the Avs had any sort of health this season I don't know if we'd be seeing the trade shake out the way it did.
The fact that Kiviranta was given extended minutes, Ivan made the team and has produced at the same rate as Kovalenko while looking better defensively, and even a guy like Prischepov has gotten 10 games in for the Avs to evaluate how he factors into the future makes me believe CMac/Bednar weren't concerned throwing Kovalenko into the deal.
I hope Kovalenko becomes great because he seems like a good guy, but I think Bednar very quickly soured on this player and we know what happens when Bednar sours on a guy. He's never seeing the light of day from that doghouse.
I genuinely don’t know what is worse; that he's knowingly lying to everyone or that he actually believes that
I like...but after the trade for Blackwood and factoring in Georgiev's retention, we are sitting at 7.872M in cap-space. This is sounding an awful lot like Landy's theme song taking over here....So in the event the Avs get healthy (I know, I know - someone gotta die) over the next couple of weeks we're looking at:
Drouin - MacKinnon - Rantanen
Lehkonen - Mittelstadt - Nichushkin
Kiviranta - Colton - O'Connor
Kelly - Ivan - Wagner
Toews - Makar
Girard - Manson
De Haan - Malinski
Blackwood
Wedgewood
Avs still need IMO 2 bottom-six forwards and a defenseman to either replace De Haan as a lefty or Malinski as a righty and preferably one that kills penalties and is physical.
Still work to be done. LOC and Kiviranta gotta play 4th line, not 3rd line.
You can keep believing Blackwood is trash, or a lateral move or whatever. The win here is removing George from the team. End of story.I genuinely don’t know what is worse; that he's knowingly lying to everyone or that he actually believes that
Just ignore me.
Exactly this, he had 2 shit goalies nobody wanted. And he turned it into a ok backup and a guy who can start at a plausible NHL level. To flip that trash for something somewhat salvageable is ok.Not a CMac fan what so ever but I recognize it's not easy to move on from 2 goalies who everyone knows are bad In the same season!
But he has accomplished that.
Of course, he should have never got himself into such poor position in the 1st place (which is why I think he is a poor GM....), but he has managed to recover. At a time where he has the boat anchor of a maxed out cap tied around his neck.
???I genuinely don’t know what is worse; that he's knowingly lying to everyone or that he actually believes that
Man I hate that we lost Kovy but it is what it is. How the f*** did we have to retain on 4giev though? Wtf.
Just today or going forward ?Just ignore me.
It's your loss either way hoss. Or is it your gain?Just today or going forward ?
Don't be surprised if Mikko re-signs next week now that George has been "eliminated".The happiest guy in the room is Sam Malinski, who no longer fears a career ending knee injury by getting whacked by his own starting goalie.
It’s the cost of xBS. Expected broken sticks in San Jose.
Finding different "wood" gifs for wedge and black will suck

I've got:
JD-Nate-Mikko
RosCo-Mitts-Nuke
Lehky-Landy/X-LOC
Wood-Ivan-Kelly/Smith
Toews-Makar
Girared-Manson
DeHaan-Malinski
Oh captain, my captain....
