Those sources also tell me the 5 teams in mix for Kevin Hayes that talk to him today are: Colorado, Nashville, #Bruins, Pittsburgh, & NYR.

Colorado and Nashville have internal budgets that they follow. I've got to think his agent is aware of this and that it could be a problem down the road for him.
Typical Pittsburgh. Offer a chance to play alongside Crosby and Malkin and **oh yeah, our **** defense and goalie**
Bruins have a spot open with Thornton leaving, but I think the Rangers offer more flexibility in their lineup. Especially in the bottom six.

If Bruins somehow get Hayes, you gotta think someone is getting traded there. I don't see Hayes taking 2 way deal considering he has five teams he is deciding between. The Bruins have barely over three million in cap space left and have to sign Krug and Smith. Bartkowski got 1.25 mil, granted he had arbitration rights but Krug and Smith had vastly superior offensive seasons. They are easily looking at 1.75-2mill each at a starting point, which Boston can't afford even before Hayes enters the equation. So if Boston does end up landing Hayes, I see them moving one or more of the following: Krug, Smith, Seidenberg, Boychuk or Kelly.
So when all is said and done, Boston will have lost Iginla, Thornton (by choice) and possibly more significant pieces from last season.
He's required to adhere to the rules of entry-level contracts, so he's getting a two-way deal regardless of where he signs. However, you're right that Boston is in a cap crunch and likely doesn't have room for him on their NHL roster.
I think it would be easier to make the Bruins or Penguins as a winger than the Rangers. If it's about a chance at playing time and its between these teams, Nashville and the Rangers make the most sense... Boston, Col and Pittsburgh have alot more depth which will make it harder for him to make their roster.
Humans like to interact with each other.Hayes met with those teams 2 days ago. How much more is there to discuss? He whittled the teams to five and wants to talk with them again?
