I wish the Leafs would kick some tires on this. I've always felt like Yak would do well away from Edmonton.

Don't see the Hawks moving either piece for Yak but surely not TVR.

Hawks are deep on defense TVR is expandable at this point with the emergence of Forsling, TVR is nothing more than a 5/6 defenseman.

Don't think any Oiler fan at this point will lose any sleep over a Yak trade . Even after assisting on Pitlicks goal if you freeze the shot after goal celebration where Yak is usaully very excited and happy he has a depressed look on his face. I think he is moved sometime tomorrow.

Probably because it's preseason and no one who has a roster spot cares.

N/A
Panarin - Toews - Yakupov
Hinostroza - Anisimov - Kane
Motte - Kruger - Hossa
Desjardins - Schmaltz - Panik

Keith - Hjalmarsson
Kempny - Seabrook
Campbell - Forsling

Crawford
Darling

Extras: TVR, Tootoo, Rasmussen, Rozsival

I think this would work given Q wants to split Panarin/Kane.

I really don't think you get rid of TVR.. yes sure right now it looks like you have D depth, but 1 injury and you are screwed..

This also wouldnt work capwise by about 250K - which means either Rasumussen would get sent down, or Rozsival would retire..

If there is a place where Yak can probably rebound it's in a proven winning environment like Chicago , under Quenneville and with guys who have experience and have seen it all (Kane , Toews , Hossa , Keith etc)

Wouldn't surprise me either if he blossom with the Hawks if he gets traded there

Q would need to have ALOT of patience with Yakupov if he were to fulfill his potential with Chicago.

OR just let Yak be Yak and see what happens.

Eitherway, I wouldn't be surprised either if he did blossom there.

Yak is the next Gilbert Brule. Oil should offload while they have the chance.

agreed, Oil should cut bait. They have been waiting for his trade value to increase for about 3 years it isn't happening, if anything it keeps trending down. If they don't move him they will probably end up not qualifying him in the summer.

According to Dreger, Oilers can't even get a 3rd round pick for Yakupov.

He said they couldn't, as in earlier in the summer when he brought this up before.

It's Dreger, so there's a fairly decent chance it's not reliable.

At this point I would do

Pokka + McNeill for Yakupov (50% retained) + Yakimov

If management decides to move Yak, then I'd be more than fine with this return. The main piece I want is Pokka for Yak (I couldn't care less if we retain we have cap space and its not my money). The McNeill + Yakimov additions I am indifferent to. I liked McNeill in his draft year, but haven't followed him at all since, but Yakimov can't skate and likely won't ever become a full-time NHLer so I'm indifferent to this addition to the deal.

This is why they've never been able to move players to help them.

The price tag has always been way, WAY too high on their players.

Finally they have to succumb and do a Hall for Larsson type deal.

It's been out there awhile that Yak's value is a 3rd. Either you take that and move on or you keep him. There is very limited, if any, middle ground. Teams have 1st round picks that don't pan out all the time. Sucks but they'll recover.

You say this...

Finally they have to succumb and do a Hall for Larsson type deal.

And then this. Which is it?

I'm also curious how you know what the Oilers ask for in trades, when no one else does.

No Yak got excited about all goals pre season or not

Not since Eakins happened... the excitement got sucked out of him by coaches and media because its not the proper way to behave in NHL. He just needs to get out of this town because whatever he does gets criticized... you "celly" and you are a villian.. you dont and you are done with the team and want out

Dredger has no ties to the Oilers and Organiztion does not like him for leaking players names in trade talk such as Eberle and Cogliano. I doubt he knows anything.

In that one instance you may be right, but I was in the rink last night and he was genuinely having fun playing. High fiving guys and laughing on the bench. The most positive I have seen him in a while.

I'd do Read for Yak. It would help our cap, even if we ended up waiving him.

Don't want Mcneill he will never play in the NHL Pokka 4th for Yak Mckenzie said many teams talking to Oilers about Yakupov so step it up a bit.

No sane GM is going into a bidding war for Nail Yakupov. :D

Nail gets table offers of the "take it or leave it" variety and chances are Stan is offering the best package if there's even interest.

If Chia gets TVR, who suddenly becomes the Oilers best second pairing defenseman for Yak, he did good.

But I would bet it's closer to McNeil and Svedberg for Yak and retention.
