Might be tough to work cap wise if the Oilers don't retain. Something around Yak and Kruger?

That's tough, Kruger is such an important piece for them and has made a huge difference in the playoffs but he's definitely overpaid now. The problem is Chicago also dealt the internal replacement in Danault so if Kruger goes, who takes that spot?

That said, feel completely free to "speculate" about stuff without naming sources.

I would be pissed if we took on Kruger's contract. Yak only has a year left, we should have no problem retaining 50% leaving his cap hit at 1.25M for the Hawks.

I think this source has as much validity as other 'sticky' sources, one in particular comes to mind.

Good god it would be a catastrophe if he meshed with Toews. Let's move him East just to avoid the minute possibility of that occurring.

I don't see Quenneville liking Yakupov and Hawks fans know full well what happens when Q doesn't like a player.

Well this is basically Yakupov at a cross roads in his career. He's either going to be an NHLer or he's heading back to the KHL.

1 year left on his deal. He either buys in like Panarin etc and does what is asked of him or he's out.

It's for 1 year, the problem is...Kruger is too useful for the Hawks and anything else just hard to fit in...McNeil won't make the salaries balance out.

Hawks could include a pick with McNeil and the Oilers could retain, but don't see Oilers retaining...
