The Ho-Sang rumours make a lot of sense with the Marner news.

Sign Ho-Sang, claim Nash from waivers, punt Clifford back to the Marlies. I'd even call-up Steeves if Mikheyev isn't ready for a little more speed/skill, but that would mean sitting Ritchie.

Kerfoot - Tavares - Nylander
Bunting - Matthews - Ho-Sang
Engvall - Kampf - Kase
Ritchie - Nash - Simmonds

Problems start to happen when the Leafs get healthy... but...
Who created those rumours though? The fans?

I'm guessing they recall some Marlies?

If Marner is on the IR, when is the earliest he can come off of it?

Short term IR = A player placed on Injured Reserve is ineligible to compete in NHL games for a period of not less than seven days.

Long-term IR = A player must be deemed to be unavailable for 24 days and 10 NHL games.

It can be done retroactively, correct? So assuming this is short term IR (no mention of LTIR) he would have to miss seven days from this past Saturday, not today, if my memory serves of when he was injured.

This makes me happy - I thought they were going to slow-play Steeves. IMO he's the best callup option even ignoring Ho-Sang's contract situation

And while my crush on Steeves is brand new just from watching his impressive skating this year, I've been crushing on Rubins for a few years now for his combo of size mobility and puck handling.

These guys are far from locks to be good nhlers, especially in their first try, but imo they definitely have the tools to be, and were the 2 guys I most wanted to get a look at right now (other than Robertson of course).

Don't know anything about the call-ups. Any insight?

Rubins is a big and steady defenseman that moves around well and isn't inept with the puck. Pretty good defensively. He's more or less a left handed Holl in style.

Steeves is a strong fast skater that does smart plays. He's actually pretty skilled as well. He might not stand out on the 4th line with guys like Clifford and Engvall. He should be up in the lineup.

Injuries happen to every team, it was going to happen eventually. Opens the door for new players and honestly , it creates some adversity they have to battle through which is a good thing when a team is rolling along as easily as the Leafs. You just pray there are no injuries when the playoffs start.

Can Ritchie be able to contribute something big? He is getting all the opportunies with the suspension and injury are happening now.

That means ltir for Marner I think which at least clears up any cap issues with mikky and Mrazek coming back.

Pushes the "problem" for one more month. Bittersweet I guess.

Mikheyev and Mrazek still aren't back...

Which one is it?
