I think tonight really emphasizes why Gustafsson a) has had so many teams and b) gets paid about 900k

Didn't see a 7-3 win coming on the 2nd of a B2B, on the road, vs. the very solid Rangers (esp. at home) with Jones starting. But this team can surprise.

Gave up a zillion high danger chances and it was far from pretty at time, but a big 4 point night from #34 and Jones gets a feel-good win so good for them. Let's keep it going through the holiday break.

Thought the team played great, the Rangers had a good push back but the guys responded, good win.

10x the player Klingberg has been this year... but weird thing to bring up.

Definitely love the addition of McMann and the subtraction of Reaves

Great win. Jones is shit but I’ll take that performance everyday from him.

Man I'm loving this team

Injuries, B2B, hostile barn, extremely good opposition and we put in a quality performance in the 1st, hang on in the 2nd, and put the game away in the 3rd under pressure with plenty of excuses if things had turned bad

That was awesome and I'm loving the physicality, no more being passive and letting the other team dictate how the game is going to be played

If you drop your head at the blueline you are going to get absolutely blasted, nice to see us dishing that out and it's Making the other teams a lot less keen to mix it up

Timmins, btw, has 4 points in 9 games lmao

If he wasn't made of glass, I'd be all for keeping him.

Likely sits in the playoffs though or is a part of a trade package.

Great win, thoroughly impressed by almost everyone.

Jones was more than what we needed, I wanted an average game where he didn't let in any shit ones. Not only did he do that, but also stopped shots he probably could've let in. Above a .900 is huge

Dcore was good given the circumstances, apart from Lajoie. Timmins with a bounceback performance. Brodie was a bit rough but whatever

Core 4 were solid, but that second line is still not contributing. 2nd goal had jarnkrok and the 3rd goal we loaded up the super line. bert-tavares-marner need to be split up at this point. Matthews is heating up, which is huge

McCabe's hit was a beauty of a hit, he's been much better since coming back from injury

3/4 on a B2B is very good

I don't think his problem is being able to shoot or pass, he's got skill. It's his decision making in the defensive zone and his skating, which is kinda iffy, that is the problem with his game.

Today he was fine but last few games he had a lot of turnovers.

His lack of pro experience (not to mention in and out of the line up from injury) shows.

Jarnkrok just quietly impresses.

Bertuzzi just looks like he will be a factor in the playoffs. His compete level has been excellent. Just can't buy a point right now.

Domi continues to put up points playing 12 mins a night.

Depth looks solid.

Compete is cool and all but what does Bertuzzi actually do well? Not really strong on the boards, falls down too much, not really a shooter, not really a netfront garbage man, occasionally makes some nice one touch passes on the fly in scrambles but not a consistent playmaker in any organized sense. What’s the job he actually does for his line?

Fun fact:

Random grab of games, but those 3 teams had a combined record of 32-7-3 coming into their games against the Leafs.
