Solid game against a top team. Back end of a b2b half the team probably sick and they played great when they had to. Some lull in the 2nd but what a third. That hit by McCabe was a masterclass in a solid legal check.

Matthews solved the Shishgerkin with a 4 point- 2 goal night.
Marner with 2 and dancing all night.
I thought Jarnkrok had a great game.

Gutsy win.

Willy was quiet tn, I wonder if he was one of the guys not feeling the best. Still, puts two more assists on the board.

In what's considered a "down" season, Marner's pacing 35 goals and 88 points .. After an 8 game stretch where he only had 3 assists, he's gotten 6 goals and 8 points in his last 6 games.

Hopefully he can get rolling more consistently.

He had a rough period where he trailed off but he's back for sure. Same for Matthews really. Both are heating up at a pretty good time.

We need that kind of performance in 3-4 months though. Hopefully they keep it up.

Man I just took a look at our schedule the rest of the month....we are in point season right now. Playing a bunch of trash cans.
What I have been saying for weeks. The schedule is Charmin soft until February. It's why I keep saying that the Leafs will pass Boston in the next few weeks.

This team seems to thrive when the odds are stacked against them. Say what you want about Tre, but he picked up some good depth this last off season.

Was Knies injured?

What's nice is that despite the meh play on the ice, they've gotten some wins and points on a nice run going 6-1-3 and have started to separate themselves from the bottom half of the division (sitting in 3rd now) plus they have some games in hand as well for once.

Definitely some questions and skepticism around the team but as long as they play their best hockey when the games really matter, that's all I care about.

Do we finally have a team here boys...Are we getting better it seems?
Tired legs and beat the best Metro team...

Injured players and all and we seem to have decent luck with the goalies

Jones was decent despite one softie.
Awesome hit by Mccabe!!
Core 4 good.
Bottom 6 gritty.

So far, TRE ir righting the ship with less than Dubas did in his whole career
Nope, not falling for it again, I will wait till the postseason before I get excited

I thought we were pretty good last night for the most part, just didn't get real quality in the pipes.

Tonight was another good effort. I know the 2nd was dicey, but the Rangers are a good team so it's unreasonable not to expect them to at least have some domination for parts of the game at home.

Rielly is a no 1 D. Defensemen take longer
Brodie should be a top pair but I don’t know if it’s mental (father/wife) or he lost a step

Ideally

Rielly Brodie
Xxxx xxx
McCabe Lilly
Gio

Probably too much to ask and we get 1 top 4 D

Is this Matthews best start ever? Hard to believe

Samsonov's capspace is better used elsewhere :sarcasm:

again i leave impressed by laggesson.

Dude just plays so f***ing well :/

He's gotta be OUR guy for the bottom pairing.

Mccabe and Brodie are cooked.

But the big boys dynamite.

Also shoutout to kampf and jarnkrok and bert - f***ing engines the lot.
Agree with this except McCabe. I think he’s been great ever since he came back from injury.

Samsonov is going to be needed and I sure hoping that he finds his game. Jones was good tonight but imho that is probably not going to continue
