He has done good things in the past.

This year he has 4 goals in the 29 games he has played. We made it into wild card position without him. I'm over him.

If Vrana gets back into form (BIG "IF") then we won't even miss Bert.
Yes we will, Vrana, or no one else for that matter, plays gritty and abrasive, he was the only Red Wing to get his nose dirty.

Eh.. Bert had heart yeah, but Hronek? Hronek was a good player, but he didn't strike me as a rah rah guy.

They're not going to magically be better without these guys, but it's not gonna do anything nutty to tank them either. Because really, Bert wasn't here most of the year and Rasmussen will be back. Bring up Erne and AlJo and they're probably gonna be just as mid as they've been most of the year.
Fixed that for you

Wait.. did you expect an unprotected 1st round pick? For Bertuzzi?
Who was the last player to return an unprotected 1st?
People are probably thinking it's like the NFL, where teams have top 10 picks this year from teams that weren't expected to be bad.

As effective as he used to be, I don't believe in the popular notion that bumping into people and falling down a lot is a rare and valuable need for a hockey team. At the end of the day, goals win the game.

Coming in peace.

Can we get a scouting report for the Bruins Board?

"We’ve got a lot of guys with skill that might not be hard. We've got some guys that are hard that might not have as much skill. He's got a pretty good package in my opinion, as a fit on our team."

Any report on the conditions on the picks?

Sucks to see Bert go but good job getting good assets in return for Bert and Hronek. If the guys are clearly in the game plan long term then let them move on. Berts trade value was likely tanked with injuries, lower production this year and overall questions if he can stay in a line up. Think we are really setting up for some huge moves in the summer with the cap space we will have and not many players due for raises.

It's top 10 protected in 2024, then unprotected in 2025

I saw this one team. The coach kept telling his players to “take the fall, act hurt, get indignant”. They ended up playing for the D5 championship

Hey guys - what's your take on Bertuzzi this year? I haven't watched much of the Red Wings this season, but obviously on paper he looks like he's having a down year. Has he had some nagging injuries, or just been a little snake biten?

Thanks!

Honestly Bert is a bit of a question mark right now but I still think it's a good gamble for the Bruins.

When healthy and on his game he is an absolute puckhound and annoying to play against. Wings tons of puck battles, very good hockey IQ. Plays with sandpaper. His style of play is ugly as all get out but somehow works for him.

But he's had awful luck this year breaking both his hands in separate incidents. When he made it back into the lineup he had moments of looking like he was getting his game back, but wasn't quite there yet.

If he finds his game with the Bruins, you're gonna love him.

He broke both hands this season blocking shots.

Bertuzzi last year would've likely netted us a first, a second, and an A level prospect. Hindsight is 20/20 but it feels like everything that can go wrong for this team, does go wrong for this team. Two broken hands on blocked shots, WTF?

Took a while for him to get up to speed after injuries. Looked way better lately (disregard the last 2 games). I think he'll be great for you guys (as painful as that is to say).

Well, there goes my favorite player. Too bad we could never make use of him in the playoffs, im sure he's gonna kill it with Boston. Pretty content with the trade.
